Handle was broken and would not close dishwasher door.
Installation was easy. My suggestion is to remove the whole assembly by unlatching clips on each side. Just remember how the handle sits before removing old one. Make sure you have both springs that attach to the handle. They can also be ordered if needed.

Dishwasher would not latch / and or start
First I watched a YouTube video on replacing a latch. It seemed easy enough, and the guy recommended Part Select. After finding my model, watching the video for the specific latch assembly, reading the reviews/suggestions, I jumped at it. Quickly took the old parts out, and ordered new. I did order an extra spring because like one reviewer noted, having a spring on only one side of the latch is a design flaw, and the reason for the broken latch in the first place. My only problem came on reassembly. I should have taken a photo or two BEFORE taken everything apart. After several trials and errors it went quickly back together AND it worked perfectly.

Broken handle
I wasn't sure at first what was causing my door not to latch. When I removed the dishwasher cover, I discovered that the handle had completely broken away on one side and was about to break on the other. It was fairly easy to change out, and I'm not mechanical at all. (Do I dare admit that I'm female?). Watching an online video helped quite a bit. Since I was replacing the handle anyways, I went ahead and ordered new door release springs also. The dishwasher only comes with one, but there's space for one on each side, so I figured that two are better than one and they weren't expensive.

Door release spring
used needle nose pliers to stretch the spring from the handle to the area that engages the electrical contacts to run the dishwasher. I too noticed that I could have used a second spring, but this one is holding nicely. The only thing is, the door didn't close and lock properly for a day. I used a long stick with a rubber guard to prevent slip to hold the door closed during use. I was happy to see that the door began latching on its own successfully after that.

The door handle was loose and not returning to it's home position
Took the top 6 screws out of the door and removed the top front panel. Saw that the handle was broken and one of the springs had fallen into the door. Ordered the replacement parts (diagrams on the site were great!). Once received, easily replaced the handle and the springs. Tested and everything worked like a champ. It literally could not have been easier.

Handle lock was not functioning
I removed the upper cover removed the handle assembly found the broken part pried it off and pried the new piece back on. It is a snap fit with plastic to plastic so I hope they hold up.

Does the little spring attach to the actuator? Or how does it work and exactly where does it connect to? We got the spring and the bolt latch. The handle does not drop down after pushing up to open the door and the door will not hold closed. Do i need the actuator and the handle? These drawing are not that good to do thr assembly. There does not appear to be a video on my model showing latch replacement.I asked for the latch assembly so i could just put it in place and was sent the bolt latch.

Replaced door handle and door latch bracket kit and when attempting to start the dishwasher, the start/resume button lights and then starts blinking and the dishwasher does not start. Noticed that there is a door release spring in the picture. Is this needed and where does it go. Looked at your video at ://www.Youtube.Com/watch?V=qkk9rvdv7ic and that does not help since it is not the model that I have.

Hi Kevin, Thank you for the question. Yes the spring is required. One end should hook to the end of the handle and then onto the bracket. Hope this helps!
