Mwave not generating microwaves, all else working
-Removed cover ("Star-pin" head security bit needed for this) - Removed leads from hi-voltage capacitor - Shorted cap leads with insulated wire to make sure it was dis-charged. - Removed cap and the the hi-voltage diod - Installed new parts.

Hi Lon,
Thank you for the question. I recommend checking to see if there is any damage tot he High-Voltage Diode Wire. If the wire is fine then it sounds like the Magnetron will need to be replaced.

How do you get to the fuse, is it in the front behind the control panel. Does the panel come out.

Hi John,
Thank you for your question. NOTE: If you are not comfortable doing this yourself, please get an electrician to do this repair. Before you begin any repair please unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet. Use a Phillips head screw driver to unthread the screws securing the grill. With the screws removed, open the microwave oven door then the slide the grill to the left and lift it up to remove. Next remove the control panel mounting screw then lift the control panel up to detach. Then remove the screw holding the inner access panel and then release the panel from the retaining clips. To avoid injury, you will need to release the potentially dangerous charge from the capacitor by placing a screw driver with an insulated handle across the terminals. Be careful not to touch the metal portion of the tool. Use pliers to detach the old fuse from the noise filter board. Install the new fuse by snapping it into the bracket. Replace the inner access panel and secure it with the screws. Now insert the control panel tabs to the slots in the frame and push the panel down. Secure it with the mounting screw. Insert the tabs of the grill into the frame and slide it to the right. Shut the oven door and then secure the grill with the screws. Plug the power cord back in and the microwave should now work. Our microwave turns on but it's not heating the food. This started happening randomly where it would occasionally not heat food. But now it's nearly all the time we try to use the microwave that it doesn't want to heat up any food. Any idea if this might be caused by the diode wire or the megantron? Thanks!

Hi Ted, Thank you for the question. If the diode was bad then you would have no heat at all and not gradually over time. I suggest replacing the Magnetron. Hope this helps!

My microwave is installed into my kitchen wall. Where do i enter the microwave to install the diode wire?

To avoid injury, you will need to release the potentially dangerous charge from the capacitor by using an insulated pair of needle nose pliers to touch both terminals simultaneously. Be careful not to touch the metal portion of the tool. Now remove the screw holding the diode to the frame. Use pliers to pull the diode free of the capacitor. You can now install the new diode. Connect it to the terminal on the capacitor and then secure it to the frame with the screw. Reinstall the inner access panel securing it with the screw. Now insert the control panel tabs to the slots in the frame and push the panel down. Secure it with the mounting screw. Insert the tabs of the grill into the frame and slide it to the right. Shut the oven door and then secure the grill with the screws. Plug the power cord back in and the microwave should now work. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My microwave made a loud popping sound the other day while heating up some food. Since then, it will not heat up food anymore, but everything else is working normal. It turns on, works like before, but the food just does not heat up anymore. I am wondering if this problem can be resolved by buying the high-voltage diode wire from your website (ps11745270). But in the Q&A section, someone asked a question about a similar situation to mine, and your support suggested that they purchase a magnetron, which is not for sale on your website. What should I do?

Hello Rit,
Thanks for your question. The diode is the most likely reason for your issue. However, bear in mind that only a licensed technician should test and install this part, as it can carry an electrical charge even after the microwave is unplugged. The capacitor could also be worth having a technician examine to see if it is shorted out.
