This is a 2800 watt, 240 volt Whirlpool oven bake element that is sourced directly from the original manufacturer for stoves, ovens, cooktops, or range ovens. This part should be replaced if the element is not heating, heating unevenly, or is too hot. It has a terminal distance of 16 inches with a terminal depth of 3 inches. Disconnect power to the oven before replacing the bake element. Unscrew the Phillips screws directly above the element brackets to remove the existing element, and remove the wire harness without losing the wires. It is recommended to inspect the wire terminals to ensure they are not arced or burnt while the element is removed.
This part works with the following brands: Whirlpool, Admiral, Estate, Inglis, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Roper, Maytag, Crosley, Jenn-Air, Hardwick, Magic Chef, Amana, Caloric & Glenwood.
This part fixes the following symptoms:
After noticing that our oven was not heating up, we talked to some other people and they said that we should try replacing the heating element. Replacing the heating element was as simple as removing two screws, pulling out the old element, reattaching the new element and putting back the two screws. One mistake I made was not unplugging the range before doing this repair and so I got a little electric shock before I was finished. After getting shocked I did unplug the range before continuing with the repair. The best part is that my oven now works again with no problem. This repair couldn't be any easier.

Called Sears, repairman couldn't come for a week and would cost $129 for visit not including parts. Went to Sears repair store, part cost more than the part I had already found online and would take a week to arrive. Ordered the part online, paid for next day delivery, watched a video on how to replace. Had my oven back in two days and $59!!!
#1...love the website where it helped us diagnose our problem. Also the video where it showed us exactly where and what to do. #2 we accessed the rear of range and unplugged. #3 Took back panel off of range to exposed wires and clips of heating bake element. #4- removed old element from the clips to find that one end was FRIED and FRAYED. Like something burned through the clip. 5- We cut and stripped the end of the hot wire, re-attached the new clip to repaired wire. 6 - plugged her back in...turn the oven on to see that the NEw coil heated up wonderfully. BEST part of the story yet....I placed the order via internet on Monday at 3:45 pm. I paid for the standard shipping of $7.95 or 3-7 day delivery. On Tuesday AM....the very next day, I was WOKEN up by my doorbell at 8:05 AM....by the time I got to the door to see who it was...the FED EX truck was pulling out of my driveway. THEREFORE I got overnight delivery without paying for it. AWESOME delivery, service, transaction....and great website and parts!! HIGHLY recommend to all!!!!
Removed two screws that attach bake element to rear of oven. Slid off blade type connectors at each end. Slid connectors onto new element. Pushed element into place and reinstalled two screws. Tested. Perfect. Took longer to do this survey than to do the repair! The one day shipping service was a big plus.
Unscrewed 2 holding brackets. Removed old element. Unfortunately one clip broke off the wire and had to be replaced. Attached clips to element and replaced holding brackets.Job is simple but working in the oven without damaging the oven door requires a younger back.Without problems should take ten minutes.
Very easy, clip on connections and two screws to hold it in place.
first I took the opportunity to clean the oven really well, Turned off the electricity at the breaker box, Took out the screw on each side and pulled out to view the clips they were attached to, they came off easily, I attached the new ones pushed in to place and reattached the 2 screws. Easiest thing I've ever done and was so cost effective to do this instead of replacing the stove. Works great!I can't believe it was shipped so quickly. I will be shopping here in the future!!!
I am a 62 year old woman. All I had to do was unscrew the retaining screws on the back of the oven wall, pull the element out and unplug it. When the new one came, I did it in reverse. It took about five minutes. Ps: I did turn the breaker off first....
Followed the instructions exactly as described on the Parts web site video, shut off power, removed old baking element, checked connectors, replaced with new element, turned power back on to the range. Repair took less than 15 minutes.
After removing the old broken element, I searched the internet for the part by brand and model number. With very little trouble, I located the correct part, ordered it and waited for the notice of shipment. In 5 days, and that included Memorial weekend we had the part and in 5 minutes the part was installed. The cost was $31.20 plus shipping..not bad!
It was very easy to fix
It would've been so much easier if replacement instructions were included. Replacement screws would've been nice also
Repair went fine as I read on how to do it and it worked fine. Hardest part was hitting the hole for the screws.
Removed old coil by unscrewing the element and unplugging it from the wires, adjusted the terminal slightly and plugged in the wire from the new element. It was a very simple process and would have taken me less time if I wasn't so old and couldn't bend easily!
We repalced the heating element n no time. Easy to do and the price couldn't be beat!
