The function of the grease filter is to trap grease into the filter from the exhaust air. The grease filter is intended to be used with certain downdraft cooktops and ranges. This grease filter is roughly fourteen inches long and almost twelve inches wide, and chrome in color. Removing your old grease filter and replacing it with a new one is an easy job, users say it took them less than fifteen minutes to install. We recommend that when removing your current grease filter, you use work gloves to protect your hands and clean the entire area thoroughly before installing the new filter.
This part works with the following brands: Whirlpool, Admiral, Estate, Inglis, Kenmore, KitchenAid, Roper, Maytag, Crosley, Jenn-Air, Hardwick, Magic Chef, Amana, Caloric & Glenwood.
This part fixes the following symptoms:
pulled old one out , cleaned the area & replaced with the new one.

Removed the old grease screen and cleaned the entire area thoroughly and replaced the screen
Removed old knobs and grease filter and replaced with new ones. Excellent service, parts arrived the day after I ordered them. Everything fit perfectly and was just as described on the website. I would certainly use PartSelect again for replacement parts on any listed appliance.
I popped out the old burner cartridges and gladly threw them away and popped in the new ones. They work great and no banging! I changed out the old grease filter in the down draft and put the new grill grate on top of the grill in seconds. The timer knob fit well but the burner knobs did not so I had to return those. My "new" stove top looks basically the same except new. The grill grate being black updates the look somewhat. The best thing is that the burners work. Thanks for everything.
I had put up with a filter that got more and more raggedy every year, but I thought my 30 yr. old range/grill top was too old for me to find an replacement filter. What a great service you offer. I found you by web-surfing, typed in the model #, and presto--you sent me the shiny new filter. All I had to do was pop it in and throw away the nasty grill (after washing the scent off to keep the bears out of my Colorado garbage.) Thank you!
Cleaned out the downdraft cove, inserted the new filter, and put old filter in garbage can. Laughing. Thanks. Wish you had a FAQ's hotline. I'd like to know if the radiant inserts fit the older coil-type models.
All of the "old" pieces were very easily removed and replaced with the new pieces. The update looks terrific and works just fine!
Had to drill out screw for old connector bracket and also had to extend wires from controls this took most time. Once done with this used wire cutters to strip back insulation and then put the whole mess back together also used a larger wire nut to reconnect wires.
I first had to purchase the replacement motor which was quoted from a high of $236 to a low at graingers of$100. 00. The counterman at graingers removed the blower fan from the motor for me with a special long handled allen key. I then degreased and cleaned the blower fan. I had to cut off the screws on the motor and replace the 3 motor isolators and the urethane foam around the motor. I had to thread the 3 wires from the new motor through the bx cable from the old motor and reattach the fan to the motor. opened shipping boxes, unpacked, unplugged old units, knobs and filter, repacked old units into boxes, plugged new units in, total time less than five minutes.Looks and works like a new unit.
The Model number could no longer be read clearly on the stove electric grill with a down draft vent system, so all I had was the size and looks of the old grease/air filter. I was very happy to come across Parts Select by way of an amazon.com search. Their web site's design and the parts pictures with detailed descriptions made it easy to find exactly what I needed. The grease filter fit perfectly in no time. I have successfully used my cooking grill again.
Be sure to turn power off; then follow the instructions on the older posts.
I was delighted to find that the parts to a Jenn-Air range which was new in 1985 were available from PartSelect.Website very user-friendly; shipping immediate; parts were just right; they fit and they enhance the range tremendously.I was 100% pleased!
I had the most difficulty finding the right place to purchase replacement parts, after that it all went swimmingly.I took off the old grille and screen, dropped in the new ones,
:-) - Just removed the old one and replace with the new one. Nothing to it. Takes 30 seconds.
