This lint chute seal, also known as a seal for outlet housing, is used for dryers. This part seals the lint chute to the blower housing in a dryer. It prevents air from leaking around the filter housing. If your seal is broken, damaged, or overused, it can allow lint to bypass the lint filter. In this case, replacing the seal can possibly solve the issues. The tool needed for this repair is a Phillips screwdriver. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for further installation instructions and remember to unplug your dryer from the power source before beginning this repair project.

Lint filter seal worn out
The part wasn’t for my machine. Unfortunaly I was not able to repair it. I was sent stripe of foam with an adhesive strip on the back. I needed a felt strip.

Seal WP697813 came off. Can the dryer be operated without the seal?
For model number MGDB200VQ0
Hi Ron, thank you for reaching out. It is not recommended to operate the dryer without the outlet housing seal. This part seals the lint chute to the blower housing in a dryer. It prevents air from leaking around the filter housing. If this seal is broken, damaged, or overused, it can allow lint to bypass the lint filter. We hope this information helps!
