I checked this site and determined all of the possible causes. I watched the video when available. I checked prices on a replacement set ($2300.00) if I got what I really wanted but decided to tackle the repairs myself and save $2100.00. My only mistake was becoming distracted when testing the timer resistor before placing my order and not knowing where to connect the replacement. I ended up paying for assistance online ($24.00). It was much cheaper then replacing my washer and dryer or even calling a service person out for help. I applaud the services offered at this site and would recommend it to friends and family.
Remove back plate covering the control module, exposing screws. loosen screws removing control assembly. Without disconnecting anything, move assembly out of the way, exposing the door switch below. Loosen screws at each side of the front panel to allow access to door switch. Disconnect switch and replace.
This is a very easy, no frills dryer to work on. Access to the blower by removing two screws holding the front panel. Blower fan held in place with a snap ring. Just recently replaced the drum rollers and shafts and the belt as well. It ran sweet for about a week and then an electric control on the motor went bad and it on;y can be replaced by buyig a new motor at $135.00. Some luck huh? Found a guy local selling a 8th month old Maytag of higher capacity and more bells and whistles for $150.00. It works great and my old Admiral uses many of the same parts so I'll have a supply of thermostats, rollers, etc., when the Maytag goes on the blink.
