I did my repair alone by myself after viewing a short video online at partselect.com The man in the video showed every step slowly and professionally. I took some extra time to clean the dust off behind the back of Dryer while I had it open for fixing.....thanks for your help and it saved me over $190 plus which I was quoted by technician for estimate and parts. I paid $43.00 for my parts...both High limit and Cycling thermostats were replaced. My wife told me good job honey ! You can do it too.

1. Unplug unit, next disconnect vent then remove back cover. 2. replaced element (very easy) then 2 thermostats, then put cover back on. 3. Removed frt. cover by following directions that came with maint. kit this too was easy. The hardest part is getting belt on as your putting drum back in, and even that was only so hard. Just TAKE YOUR TIME, and you will get it.
Dryer didn't heat. I got the heating element thru sears and when I ordered it I thought I should also order the thermostats but I didn't. Element arrived two days after ordered right on time. Slipped right in in a few minutes. Turned dryer on. No heat. Went back to drawing board. Watched videos on part select site and realized I needed thermostats. Ordered them and lint filter. Arrived right on schedule and also slipped in in no time flat. Turned dryer on and yes it heated perfectly. Wife was pretty impressed with new lint filter as other one was torn with jagged edges. MY SUGGESTION: if your dryer doesn't heat and you can't test each individual item thermostats and heating element order the three of them ( high limit and cycling thermostats and heating element) cause they'll probably will all go at the same time anyway. Then won't have to wait on the second shipment if things don't work with partial replacement. Parts select was great and videos are well understood and easy to follow. Would certainly use again.
I put in the new parts but it still did not work, Turned out the Thermal Fuse Blew, removed the two wires and clipped them together and the Dryer worked, have to replace the Thermal fuse and everything will be OK.
repair wasfairly easy, part select custemer stories and advice really helped.parts were shipped sooner then exepected,i will recomend part select to everyone i know.
I watched the installation video and learned that the installation was a very easy job to do. I followed the instructions and indeed the job was really easy. Requiring only a 1/4" socket and a Phillips tip screwdriver.
put the high limit in , plus the temperature , plus the exhaust switches
Used the trouble shooting tips provided as a guide and a multimeter to test and find the defective part. Testing indicated no continuity thru the high limit thermostat. I ordered the part and received it in 3 days. Had the repair done a full week before the repairman could even come to the house and saved well over $100 in repair costs and 2 weeks or longer of down time. Great website and service.
Researched causes of low heat and purchased thermostat and heating element. Delivery was less than one week. Installation was easy with the on-line video.
Thermostats go right in after removing the back. Drum felt seal manufacturer's written instructions and diagram were not clear. The projecting part in the middle of the felt needs to cover the rear drum edge to prevent metal-to-metal contact of the spinning drum with the rear inside bulkhead. The PartSelect video that shows this cannot be viewed in my web browser, Chrome. User the Explorer browser to be able to see the videos to see how to do it. The front panel screw boltclips were loose. Tape them in place before repositioning the front panel. The time to repair included letting the seal adhesive/glue dry. Let it dry completely outdoors since it is stinky.
The dryer was only blowing high heat, no matter what temperature selection I chose. I removed the back panel, matched up the parts, and replaced them. I did all of this in about 15 min, with a 1/4" nut driver. Piece of cake. I'm not sure which piece fixed my problem, but for $25 changing them both was worth it to me. While your back there I recommend cleaning out, or checking the dryer vent, just to be safe.
First I watched the repair video on-line at this site After pulling the dryer away from the wall and unplugging the 220 volt power cord I removed the back panel with the 9 screws. I then unplugged the wires to the thermostat/heating element. With an ohm meter I discovered that the heating element was good and the high limit thermostat was bad. I ordered the high limit thermostat from this site on a 2 day shipment. When the part arrived I installed the part and the wires. Plugged in the dryer for a quick check for heating. Replaced the back panel and moved the dryer back into position. Dryer works fine now.
I unplugged the machine and removed the back panel with a 1/4" socket. I unplugged each thermostat in turn and pulled them out. The internal bias was a bit tricky to remove without breaking the tabs or wires. I then placed each thermostat back in and replaced all the wires. Not bad at all. Weird thing is the dryer heats just fine now, until I put the back panel on; once I replace the back panel, it will not heat.
Replaced heating element, thermostats and fuse, cleaned dryer vent shafts and it is now working like when it was new.
I took the back off 1st put the element and thermostats in... 2nd I took the front off the dryer and replaced the belt.....3rd I blew out all the lint and dust and then put it back together it was a cake walk...I want to add that the parts arrived extremely "FAST" and "ACCURATE"... which made the job that much easier.....
