timer died
Following the diagrams on your website, removed the old timer and put the new one in. It would have been a little smoother with a third hand - at one point I was holding together three components held together with two screws, and fighting the door spring - but it worked out.

Timer knob is extremely difficult to turn. Do i need the timer or the cam? I'm not sure what the cam does in your picture. I have yet to take it apart.

Hello Chris, thank you for your question. The knob slides over the shaft of the timer, and if its very hard to turn the timer itself would have to be replaced. If you take the unit apart and the cam and other timer parts that work with the timer are no broken, the timer is the issue. Unfortunately, the timer has been discontinued and is no longer available. I hope this helps!

After each cycle is finished the dial knob stops between rinse and dry You can hear the timer motor running and you have to manually turn the knob ti off on the dial otherwise itimer will continue to run all day. urning the knob to iff is normal and not hard

Hi Steve, thank you for the question. We have researched and found that the issue is possibly with the timer cam, part number PS11741339. The timer cam connects to the timer to control cycle operations. We would recommend checking the timer cam to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!

My settings dial just spins. I looked at the connection to the cam and it is stripped. Dial looks okay. I guess i just need the cam?

So, regarding the timer cam for my whirlpool dishwasher, what do I inspect for or be on the lookout for to validate the existing cam is indeed defective . Just wanting to avoid un necessary purchases. Thanks!
