The piece inside the part was cracked so I could not turn the knob and engage the dryer. I took the dial off and found the parts on PartSelect.com Their diagrams were incredibly helpful. I pulled the old knob off, snapped these two new parts together and put the knob back on....problem solved. I confess, as a woman whose husband does all the repairs in the house, I was very proud of the fact that I solved this one on my own. For $20. I saved mega $$ on a house repair call and parts replacement charge. Thank YOU!

I pulled the dial off. Fit the three new parts together. I put in stem of the timer and turned the dryer on.Very easy, No tools required except a screw driver to pry the old knob off.
I removed the caps from the old timer dial, snapped them onto the new one and just pushed the dial onto the metal stem on the dryer. It took less than 5 mins. Very helpful staff.
Straight forward stuff. Remove the various pieces (didn't expect it to be multiple). The screwdriver was to remove the cap from the old skirt. Pop it all together.
Removed the Timer Skirt by pulling it, by hand force, from the "D" shaft on the dryer control panel. Using a flat blade screw driver the Skirt was separated from 2 Timer Knob tangs that holds the subassembly together. Installation with the replacement part is the opposite steps.
Popped the timer off the machine. Broke it down to its three basic parts with a screw driver. Replaced the timer dial skirt (the broken part). Put the timer together again. Popped it back on the machine. All per your excellent investigative guide and detail assembly instructions. Thank you very much.
After the timer broke, I glued it together and it lasted a bit longer. It broke again after about one year. I got online to find the part which took me about 5 minutes. The part was here in 2 days and it took me about two minutes to fix. Great video instructions. Thanks for making it so easy.
It was so easy, even a caveman can do it
Ordered the part on Saturday and it was delivered on Tuesday. Watched the PartSelect video and had the dial skirt replaced and the dryer running in less than two minutes. Super easy repair at a bargain price.
First I watched a short film from the partselect website on how to dismantle the item and put it together. It took me one minute to put the parts together. Wonderful. The delivery was scheduled for 3 to 5 days and I received it on the third day. I could not have asked for better service. Thank you partselect
replaced timer, no problem
I watched the video instructions and followed the steps.
After browsing the internet for a replacement part, came upon your website with the super friendly repair man - making it look very easy to replace this part. The video answered all of my questions, and I was able to take apart the old dial - (although it helped to have an extra set of hands to lift off the gray rubber portion - while the other person was wrangling the white tabs inward with the screw driver) Once the new part came in (very quickly I might add) it took about 30 seconds to put everything back together. Thank you for the video, and the prompt service.
took off the old knob and replaced it with the new part, returned to the setting dial.
