The timer on my Maytag de312 dryer has been malfunctioning. When the timer is set a couple notches into the regular dry setting, and the dryer is started, it dries, but the timer won't advance; the dryer just keeps running until I open the door to shut it off. However, if the timer is set just above the first notch in the regular dry setting, the dryer dries and the timer does advance. Its advance fails only when the timer is set in the 10:00-12:00 range of travel. I ordered the replacement, and installed it this past weekend. Everything works exactly as before including the "failure spot" in the 10:00 12:00 range of the timer, where the timer still fails to advance.

Hi Jay, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the parts of the knob. Make sure there is no damage preventing it from allowing the timer to advance at a certain angle. Also check the wiring to make sure there is no damage or wear. Hope this helps!
