Ordered and received parts. Removed drawer and shelf unit. Removed the glass from top of shelf. Each track(2) slides out of slots on each of the metal shelf brackets. Slid old tracks out of each shelf bracket. Had to use small screwdriver to push down plastic tab that locks track before it would slide all the way out. Each new track had a small tab on each end, which would not let them slide into the slots on the metal shelf brackets. Used a small saw (could also use a file) to remove the 2 tabs on each track. Slid the new tracks onto metal shelf brackets, reinstalled shelf unit, glass top and drawer. Took about 40 minutes.
New part had small tips on each end that had to be shaved down . Used broken part as guide to hammer new part in place .
Popped the old slides out. the new slides had extra small knobs(no holes for them) ground off unnecessary ones with dremel grinder. slide right in after doing this with no problem.
Remove sliding drawer. Remove glass shelf. Inspect the installation slots that the support rail is mounted through. Understand the direction you wish to apply force and then softly tap the rail and it will pop free. The same can be done for both sides. Interestingly, the parts are the same so you do not need a left and right rail if both rails are broken. In fact, they can be removed, flipped 180deg and reinstalled.
These slides are in a notched metal support arm and meant to slip forward into a groove and lock in place. The replacements are exactly the same with one small difference and that is two small pillars that are meant to apply tension so that the slide stays in place. Therefore you have to fit the new slide into its notch and groove hold and press it into the support in two places and then push the slide into its locking position. I found that doing this was difficult with only two hands as the plastic did not flex and the tension from the new unit was far greater than the old ones with out the tension pillars. Answer was simple; soak the new slides in very hot water for 5-10 minutes. This allowed the slides to be more flexible and slide and lock right into place.
I followed the video that was with the parts description on-line and also prior to ordering you can watch the video. This will indicate if you are qualified to make the repair or you need to bring in more knowledgeable help.
Both husband and wife working together.
After cleaning out the drawer and taking it out, I removed the shelf the bracket was connected to. The bracket slid out and the new one slid in with help from the rubber mallet. Should have checked the left side too, as it was cracked and I ended up ordering another track.
I pulled out the snack bin, took out the shelf, The rails slide and snap out. To install, all you do is snap in and slide the rail in place. 5 minute job.The filter took 10 secondsThe timer know was for a Kenmore washing machine, and the install took 5 seconds
My son took the icemaker apart and helped me figure out what I needed to fix it. We ordered the part, which was easy with the diagrams this site supplies. I was able to get the new part in after just a little figuring out what I needed to do. I am so happy to get automatic ice again.
removed old track put in new one.parts was here in 3 day and was about one half the cost of other places
I watched the video on how to do from Partselect.Com and the repair went easily just as on the video.Thank You PartsSelect.Com
After reading some of the other repair reports, I realized I had to remove two plastic tabs on each of the slider tracks for them to fit properly into my shelf arm. I accomplished that with a rotary sander/grinder since there was no notch or hole for them to fit in my situation. That done, it was a simple matter of sliding the tracks in and out with a bit of help from a hammer (only slightly though). The repair took all of 10 minutes or so. I enjoy that my drawer no longer falls out when we use it!
Removed drawer and side rails , install new glides on both sides.replace drawer in refridgerator.
