Washer wouldn't stop filling with water.
It should have been extremely easy, but it was a little difficult because my laundry room is very small and I had extremely limited space to work in and also had limited lighting. However, after taking many minutes to strategically plan how to maneuver in the tiny space, I was able to loosen the giant clamp on the hose inside the washer and attach the new hose! It worked like a charm! My 25 year old Maytag is working again! The part came in a bag certified as a genuine Whirlpool part and looked exactly like the old one! No complaints! The online installation videos are wonderful!

Washer was overfilling from water level selected
Tried the water level control first. didn't fix it.
Then replaced the air tube for tub fill volume.

The thing here is that it didn't have a hole in it nor was it blocked where you couldn't blow through it.
The prolbem was that at the tub end it has a larger diameter and that was nearly filled with softener residue so it changed the air volume.
That reduced air volume caused the air pressure to be wrong to the water level sensor.
My most useful tool was a magnet mount flashligt inside the cabinet so I could see to get the hose back on.

Water level Uncontrolled, Belts squeeking
Removed face of control panel, removed cover on back of machine that allows access to water level hose. Disconnected hot and cold water supply. Pulled old water level hose off tub. Had to use screw type hose clamps to install as diameter of hose different from original. Removed hoses from water inlet valve. Easily installed new valve. Tilted machine on it's face to access belts. Took five minutes to replace.

The hot water intake valve did not function
This clothes washer is 35 years old and runs like a champ. I did notice a bit of water below the left rear and assumed that a hose was leaking. I let it go for about 6 months, until I could fit it into the "to-do" list. During that time, the hot/cold water intake valve died. I ordered the replacement hot/cold valve a month ago but noticed, upon removal of the valve, that there was significant water drip evidence around the electrical valve solenoids. The water drips caused the valve to die. Drips came from a clogged injector hose air break directly above the valve. Replaced all hoses and water level vacuum air line. Very easy process. The front drops off with two screws. The lid is off with two screws. All hoses easy to R/R. It took about 2 hours to complete. All replacement parts were perfect. My belts are fine so I'm ready for another 30 years of service.

Water level is 3"-4" more than what the water level selected on push button control is. Selecting "large" water level the water will fill to approx. 1" below top of agitator top.

Hello Homer, Thank you for the question. I suggest checking the Air Tube for Tub Fill Volume PartSelect Number PS11739292 for damage or blockage first. If the tube is good and secure, you can test the Water Level Switch PartSelect Number PS2017277 and the Water Inlet valve PartSelect Number PS1583805. Hope this helps!

Washer will not stop filling with water. So i replaced the 5-level rotary water pressure switch first. Connected all hoses and electricity and started washer. Result: Still would not stop filling with water. So i have ordered from your firm the air tube for tub fill volume. The only thing left on your trouble shooting list is the water inlet valve...which i can not find on your online listings...where is this valve located on my machine and part number?????

Hi John, Thank you for your question. The water inlet valve would be located in the back of the washer near the top where the hoses attach to. When you are facing the washer from the front it would be on the back left side. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Water will not fill. I already replaced the water inlet valve.

Hi Carlos, thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that you could check. This would be one of them. You would have to look for any tears or holes in the part that might make it not be working correctly. You may also want to check your lid switches to see if they are working as well. Another part to check would be your pressure switch. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.
