Customer: Garry from Port Charlotte, FL

Timer was inoperative, would not complete wash cycle

First, I pulled the press-fit knobs for the load size and water temp, then after prying the face cap from the timer knob, I was able to remove the clip, knob and spring portion of the timer knob assembly. Then, I removed four phillips screws at the top of the washer which held the face plate and frame, allowing access to the timer and its wiring harness . The timer was held into position by two small hex screws, which were exposed after the timer knob assembly was remover. I backed themout with a nut driver. After removing the wiring harness, the new timer as very easy to install. I would say it t ook me 10 to 15 minutes to remove, and replace my maytag timer and save over $200 as quoted by a repair service.
