This part fixes the following symptoms:
My ice maker would not operate at all. I viewed the tutorial for the ice maker and followed all steps in correct order. The only deviation I took was to disconnect the original wiring loop from the old ice maker instead of the refrigerator. I took this route because I felt I had to put too much pressure on the loop at the refrigerator end. Anyone deciding on this deviation just has to inspect the in-line fuze on the old loop. If the original problem was the fuze, the fuze housing would be melted to some degree. It should be noted that the ice maker has to be removed from the freezer wall in order to properly inspect the fuze. Otherwise the entire operation involved the use of a 1/4 inch nut driver to loosen two top screws and remove one screw on the bottom. After installing the new ice maker I found I had no water from the dual water valve located on the bottom rear of the appliance. I installed a new water valve by removing the two 1/4 inch mounting screws and while holding the old and new valves side-by-side moved the three water lines and two wiring harnesses from the old to the new and remounted the assembly. After about three hours the freezer was cold enough to start making ice. We ran about two gallons of water through the water dispenser and discarded the first three trays from the ice maker to purge and clean the system.

Removed the bolts that held the back panel, removed mounting bolts, unplugged electrical connections, removed water connections, connected water lines back up, plugged in electrical connections, re-mounted unit, tested unit, and re-installed back panel.
I shutoff the water, removed the back cover, disconnected the old piece and replaced the new. Checked for leaks and replaced the cover. Easy job, took maybe 30 minutes.
My water dispenser stopped working after using for sometime with a buzzing noise before water would dispense. After looking at Partselect .com parts diagram I found the water inlet valve was two valve assembly. One part of the valve is for the ice maker that worked fine. What I was hearing was the dispenser valve side solnoid trying to operate. After vacuum cleaning the coils and fan area and turning off the water to Frig. I replaced the valve, turned on the water, checked for leaks, It worked fine.. the part was delivered almost over night. The repair went great. It took less than 15mins. once the part arrived. Just to let others know that ordering the part was so easy. And were we surprised when the part came that next day. We'll let all our friends and everyone we know where to go the next time they need any part should they need to do so. Thank You so much.AAAAA*****. Joe& Barbara
Ice tray in the ice maker was overfilling with water, and running out all inside the freezer.Going by similar problems described that other people had, it seemed it was a bad dual inlet valve.I replace the valve, which was very simple to do using nothing more than a nut drever, and a cresent wrench. But unfortunatly it did not fix the problem.Ice tray still overfills with water.
