REMOVED OLD ICE CHUTE AND REPLACED WITH NEW ICE GUIDE THANKS TO INSTRUCTIONS ON PARTSELCTS VIDEO THE REPLACEMENT WAS DONE IN LESS THAN 2 MINUTES
This one is not rocket science, however, it does take some careful "fudging" to accomplish without additional disassembly. The Ice Guide is held in place by three tabs. The tricky part is "tilting" the center tab into it's hole/slot on the ice dispenser lever (center hole), then tilting it up to snap into place.... there is a very tight tolerance here, with the opening of the ice/water dispensing unit. Be sure to "lock out" the ice maker/water dispenser, in order to be able to use the light. Once snapped in place, all is well.
Pull the drip tray out, then use the scraper to pop the front off . Remove wire connections and set aside. Pull the next plate that has the light in it and tape out of the way. Snap the out guide out and snap the new one in. Put the light plate back in attach the connections back to the plate snap back in put the drip tray back in place. All done
I watched the video on removing and installing ice guide. It was on point. Thanks!! It took about 1 minute to install.
Just bust out the old part, snap in the new part. It couldn't be more simple. I wouldn't have tried it without the video. Once I did it, I decided I will always check here first!Tim
The repair was super easy. The part was shipped as promised. In fact, it arrived a day earlier than expected. I simply unpacked the guide and positioned it under the Ice Dispenser Door and applied gentle pressure. It snapped into place and works like new.
I haven't quite figured out how to get this completely installed. I'm having trouble getting the middle tab to insert. But I do have it working for now until I can have someone else look at it for me. I'm just happy I was able to find the part!
