Product Description

Primary Water Valve Specifications

This water inlet valve is used in refrigerators and freezers. It is used to facilitate the flow of water from the water supply line to reach the water valve, therefore flowing into the compact icemaker mold. If there is a leak, the ice maker is not making ice or it is not dispensing water, replacing the water inlet valve can solve the issue. Remember to unplug your refrigerator from the power source before beginning this installation project. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for installation instructions and accurate guidance.

Leaking valve
The hardest part was to pull the refrigerator out. You Shut off the water line power and then take out the panel. Disconnect the water line and isolate and remove the part. and I have replaced these parts multiple times and it is very easy and a lot less expensive then a new fridge.

Original parts had cracked due to cold weather
Original parts froze when the fridge was stored in the garage, so when we brought it in and hooked up the water supply we discovered the cracks.

I used a wrench to remove the back lower cover of the fridge. attached to that cover were both the parts I needed to replace. I removed one nut each per part so they were free of the back cover. Once free I unhooked the two electrical plugs per part and reattached the new part so as not to confuse the positions of the wiring. Then I did the same thing with the two hoses attached to each part, swapping old part for new. Once connected, I reattached the new parts to the back cover and replaced the back cover to the fridge. Connected the water line and tried the ice maker and water source on the door. I didn't realize it, but the filter, located in the refrigerator side of the unit had also frozen and cracked, so I had water now pouring from the fridge! Replaced that filter, cleaned up the water and everything is working great!

800 number customer service person Kim originally helped me locate the correct parts via schematic diagram, as no part numbers were visible on my broken parts. She was incredibly helpful and got the correct parts on her first guess ( she told me it was a guess but she was right on the money).

no water pressure, and very little volume of water
First I removed the existing copper ice maker line and then installed a plastic line. I then tried the appliance, with no change. I then removed and replace the primary water valve and then tested that as well. There was no change in the outcome. So I removed and replaced the secondary water valve and tested that as well and I noticed a significant change in water pressure, and in volume.

Water dispenser is getting water but ice maker not making ice. It had been off for sometime and when turned back on made about 1 storage tray of ice and then quit? No water in the ice molds.
For model number ARB9058CW

Hi Bill, Thank you for your question. Well there are a few parts that you can check. I would suggest checking your water inlet valve first. The valve has two solenoids, one for the ice and one for the water dispenser. Even if the water solenoid is working the ice maker solenoid may not be. If your water valve is fine then it might be your ice maker itself that is the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My icemaker is not making ice. The drinking water from the refrigerator is working but no water to the ice maker. I replaced the ice maker itself and checked with multimeter. Do i need to replace the primary or secondary water inlet?
For model number 59673503201

Hi Brandie, Thank you for your question. If the ice maker is not making ice and you have already replaced it, there are some parts that you will need to check to see which ones are causing the issue. You will need to check the water filter, the water fill cup and bearing, the ice maker shut off arm, the water inlet valves and the water tubes. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

My ice maker is over filling and causing the ice in the bin to clump under the filler end of the ice maker. What do I need to do to correct the problem?
For model number ARB2557CSR

Hello Jim, Thanks for your question. Test the water inlet valve with a multimeter and replace it if it shows no continuity. Test the ice maker as well and check if the ice maker shut-off arm is functioning properly. I hope this helps.
