Cold water leaked into tub
Replaced water inlet valve. Parts select video was incorrect for my unit. There are no spring clips to be released using a putty knife. Rather remove the two screws in the back of the top, pull the top forward and up to get at hose connections to the valve. Hint, place a towel under the valve connections because after removed from the valve, the hoses will leak to the floor. I propped the top up with a stick. All the other stuff in the video is good. Unplug and turn water off, remove connectors from old valve etc. . I also removed the protective plate over the cabled that runs between the washer and the control panel located on the back of the washer. The will make the sliding of the top forward easier. Only one screw involved.

Slight leak from the top of the drum. Seems to be splashing from the bleach and conditional trays. Would the water inlet valve control that and cause this to happen? Thx
For model number MVWB850YW0
PartSelect logo
HI Steve, Thank you for your question. There could be a couple of reasons as to why you are having that issue. I would suggest checking your drawer and making sure that there are not blockages or build up of soap or fabric softener. Sometimes build up will make the water splash up into your machine instead of just inside of the drawer. You should check your tubes as well, just make sure they are attached firmly into place on the dispenser drawer. If everything is all cleaned up in there then you may have to look at your water inlet valve being the issue. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

Is this part control how fast water comes in washing machine
PartSelect logo
Hi Gilbert, Thank you for the question. Yes, in most cases the valve would control the water flow. If it becomes clogged or defective, the water may not flow as fast. Hope this helps!

We are having an issue with our unit leaking from the bottom onto the floor and really do not know why or where its coming from? There is a circular pattern of grease on the floor under the center of the unit also? Can you help?
For model number WTW8540BW1
PartSelect logo
Hello Gene, thank you for your question. The unit is probably leaking around the bottom of the tub. We would recommend replacing the Basket Hub Kit Part Number: W10820039. The tub seal may be bad, but is only available by ordering the outer tub itself, part number W10381078. The grease may be coming from the bearing and seal in the tub and leaking down to the floor. I would recommend inspecting the tub, seal and bearing. I hope this helps!

My unit is leaking onto the floor and i don't know where from? There is also a circular grease pattern on the floor from the center of the unit? Can you help?
For model number WTW8540BW1
PartSelect logo
Hello Gene, thank you for your question. It sounds like the tub seal is bad which would have to be replaced by ordering the whole outer basket, part number W10381078. The grease stain may be coming from the water going down into the rotor and stator under the tub. We would recommend replacing the tub and seal first. I hope this helps!

Does the ps11731257 valve lift out after removing the screws or is there more to it? It seems to be held in rather tight.
For model number MVWB725BW0
PartSelect logo
Hi Al, Thank you for the question.First remove the control panel so you can lift the top of the washer to expose the valve. Take pictures so you can use it as a reference for the wiring and hoses and what port they connect to. Remove the screws and remove. Hope this helps!

Inserting the putty knife at either 3 or 6 inches from the front sides does not result in contacting a spring clip. Is there a different way to release the top to get access to the hoses? Trying to replace the water inlet valve.
For model number 110.2810

Hi Ben, Thank you for your question. There is a video listed with the part on our website that you may reference on how to install the part. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

It's a Whirlpool washer (cabrio), bought in 2014, the leak is coming from the bottom of the washer and i cannot determine where its coming from? Have you heard of this problem before? So i can buy the right part
For model number WTW89540BW1
PartSelect logo
Hello Eddie, thank you for inquiring. This could be due to a faulty Drain Pump, part number PS11754363 for your model. You may also want to consider replacing the Basket Hub Kit part number PS11723155 to fix this. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair!

Bleach dispenser spilling over. I took it out and cleaned it. It does drain when i por water in jt. Can water valve cause too much pressure where it spills over. Replacing correct the issue?
For model number Mvwb850ywo
PartSelect logo
Hello Sergio, thank you for your question. The water valve is probably the issue, but it is more likely that the valve is not shutting completely, which is allowing water to flow into the dispenser and spill out. I would suggest replacing the water valve. I hope this helps!

Does part W10853723 (water inlet valve) come with the wiring harness? I've read that the solenoid orientation in this part may be different from the original part W10342320 making the length of wire in the original harness a challenge.
For model number MVWB700BW0
PartSelect logo
Hello Glenn, Thank you for the question. The original Wire Harness can be used with the new Valve. Previous customers have had no issues with the wiring being long enough. We hope this helps!
