This lower rack wheel kit includes 8 wheels and 8 axles that allow the lower dishwasher rack to slide in and out smoothly. If your dishwasher door will not close, is noisy when operating, or the dishes are not cleaning properly, you might need to replace one or more of the wheels. Each wheel and axle are made of plastic, and fit into one another so they can be clipped on to the lower dishwasher rack. Many of our customers found this repair to be quick and easy, and the only tool you should need to complete the repair is a pair of pliers.
This part works with the following brands: GE, Hotpoint & Kenmore.
This part fixes the following symptoms:
I am NOT handy, but my husband was gone when the wheels and stud/axles came. I was able to replace all of them in about ten minutes with no tools. Easy and no more frustrations!!!!!

Just snapped studs and wheels together and put them into place.
Just remove the lower basket from the machine and pull the old wheels off. Then snap on the new wheels on the pegs. The old style wheels snap in place without much force. The new wheels take much more force to install and lock onto the basket which keeps them from coming off when the basket is heavily loaded.
I measured the diameter of the working wheels from the existing ones, and located the parts I needed from the website. I order two packages, each containing the wheels and axles for the rack. When delivered, I snapped the wheels onto the delivered axles. Then, I snapped the axels unto the bottom rack, at the correct place. I used a large pliers for leverage because the axel was a bit tight to just simply snap on.The middle wheels are located just behind the front wheels, thereby offering support when the botton rack is pulled forward for loading. Likewise, they offer support when the rack is pushed back in place.
The most difficult part was removing the old wheels. The plastic coating on the rack had come off, leaving the metal exposed. The wheels had rusted on - that's why they wouldn't roll. Once we got them off with pliers, hammer, screwdriver and basically everything in the tool chest, we were home free. Installing the new wheels and axles was easy.
Dishwasher rollers and other mechanical parts of plastic and rubber dry out and fail. A service call to an apppiiance repair person would have cost more than all the parts to repair the problem. Ordered them online on Sunday night, received them the following Wednesday, probably as fast as I could have had an appointment for a repairman. Changed out the parts in ten minutes and pocketed the change. $30 out of pocket instead of about $100, thanks to partselect.com.
Opened the package, opened the plastic parts bag, installed the roller and the cap.Whew!
Remove the old assembly (roller and stud) if they are still presentPush the new roller onto the new studthen push completed part onto lower rack until it snapsThese are much better quality than the originals
I just purchased a house just before it went on foreclosure and several parts to th dishwasher was missing. I went on th internet and came upon your web site. Having no manual I thought that this was going to be abut as much fun as stepping on landmines. I was surprised that I entered the model number and was able o get all the parts hat I needed. The replacement was easy but a word to the wise sometimes on wheels they sell them with the locks that hold them to the basket and they will have the same part number. Other then that a fun experience.
I placed a new snap device into the wheel athen attached it to the lower rack.
Took the old wheel off and replaced it with the new wheel. No tools necessary. Very simple to repair or make the change needed.
Just snap wheel axle into wheel then snap the whole wheel assembly on to rack.Much better design.
Snapped off the old wheels and clips and installed the new wheels. Make sure the wheels are installed on the holder prior to snapping the clip onto the dish rack. Very easy job.
very simple.... everything fit perfectly. So glad I was able to find others with same problem.
