Washer would go into an unbalanced error code
Replaced 4 suspension rods. Had to release washer top from body case by twisting putty knife between lid and body. Once released swung lid up and propped against wall to access suspension rods. Replaced all rods and reinstalled lid. Good test run, no unbalanced error.

Whirlpool Cabrio top load washer Error UL
Lived about 6 months with noisy, unbalanced, vibrating top-load washer that would not fully drain clothes or finish a spin cycle.

Watched as many You-Tube repairs videos as we could. Had difficulty trying to open the top panel for access to spin tub.

Discovered that we had clips in front, about 6" from each side, that needed pressure push with flat metal paint scraper, in order to open the top for access.

Other than that delay, took us about 2 hours total with two of us working together. In the end, Suspension Kit was exactly what we needed, and NO longer get the UL error code, with bothersome constant spin stops, which failed to spin water out of wet clothing.

Watched the video first thing really helpful. Unplugged the machine popped the top put the front left rod on first then right rear that had the clip for the pump hose then the left rear saved front right for last got pretty stiff and it was easier to get to than the rear ones. Put top back down checked level plugged back in and went to washing. Worked great so far.

Unbalanced Load
I followed the video instructions provided. However, I used the hook on an old rod to pull the new rods through the corner holes in the top of the dryer. Simple invert the old rod and feed through the hole, hook onto the new rod and lift through the hole. It enabled me to lift the tub with one hand and put the plastic seat and new rod in place with the other hand. Too easy and sped up the repair job.

I hate to spend money on parts if not sure of the problem. How do i test the suspension springs on my washer to see if bad before i buy new springs? Ever thing looks good, nothing broken, 2007 Whirlpool, walks around the block when spin cycle, even with no cloths in washer. Thanks ron ps, if you see my washer going your way, can you send it back to me.
PartSelect logo
Good Morning, Thank you for your question. There is no test for the springs unfortunately. The only thing I could suggest you do is take one of the springs off and pull on it. If the spring can be stretched fairly easily, then it will likely need to be replaced. Usually when you are having such strong shaking and moving, it is your suspension rods that would be the issue. Good luck with your repair.

If replace suspension and basket parts and still i'm and stops, what are the chances that water pump is partially bad? Still have a little water below bottom of tub. Please advise if this is possible. Thanks
For model number Www6400sw2
PartSelect logo
Hello Mark, Thank you for your inquiry. You can test the pump with a multimeter to see if it has continuity. We would also advise checking the water inlet valve as well. Hope this helps!

My sister in law purchased her Whirlpool cabrio washer in 2007. Recently her washer started to shake during the rinse/spin cycle, get the "ul" code, and then stop working. She has tried redistributing the load and restarting which works sometimes. She also tried unplugging the washer and restarted (rebooting the computer) which worked once, but doesn't seem to help the situation. Everything i have researched seems to point to the suspension rods. Should this suspension rod kit take care of the problem?
For model number WTW6600SW2
PartSelect logo
Hello Mike, Thank you for your question. The suspension rod is most likely to fix the issues since the error refers to an off-balance in the washer tub, it would help keep the tub balanced and fix the issues. We hope this helps.

. what is wrong with your washing machine after you have change the suspension rods and it is still banging ?what do i need to do ?
For model number Mtw6600tb0
PartSelect logo
Hello Ronnie, thank you for your question. There are some parts that you will need to check to see which one is causing the issue. You will need to check the Suspension Ball Kit Part Number: W10198919, Basket Hub Kit Part Number: W10820039, and your Leveling Leg Part Number: W10739673 to be sure they are keeping the unit level. I would also check the Tub Ring WPW10130807. I hope this helps!

How long are your suspension rods for model #wtw6400ws3 whirlpool cabrio washer - supposed to be 29.5 - 30 inches long. But everyt time I get this part (4 companies now) it only measures 26.25 - 26.5 inches long??? I keep getting OEM part # W10820048. It's obviously wrong! 4 different companies have done the same at 26.25 - 26.5 inches long. THEY ARE TOO SHORT!

What is the difference between the red and blue suspension rods
For model number GCWP1800D0WW
PartSelect logo
Hi Ira, thank you for your question. As listed in each part title description. The red are your rear rods and the blue are your front rods. This kit does not fit your appliance. You will need two of each of the red and blue rods listed directly underneath your appliance. Good luck with your repair.
