Lifted the front up onto a scrap 2x4 to get it off the ground and it had 1 bolt that you removed to get the old item off and replace with new assymbly and 1 bolt to re attach. This sat broke for over a year becuase I thought it would be alot harder to fix, found the part on parts select ordered it recieved it in approx 2 days and had it fixed in less than 15 minutes. I would recommend parts select to anyone who told me that they had a appliance broken. Thanks

It was really easy. Took off grill at bottom of refrigerator, turned existing filter to get it out and then inserted the new one.
Removed two screws holding the filter housing. Pulled filter and housing out far enough to remove inlet and outlet lines.Replaced inlet and outlet lines( precautionary) in filter housing, installed new filter.
Just turn old filter counterclockwise, pulli it out, insert the new filter from "Part Select" clockwise and WALLLA!!!!...we have fresh clean water. That easy a caveman can do it.
After cutting supply line to ice maker and using syringe to back feed ice maker discharge outlet- I learned that there was no freeze blockage in supply.Using nut driver, the valve was removed and electrical and water lines removed and reinstalled on new valve.Reinstallation of assembly using nut driver completed the whole repair in less than 5 minutes. The part was a perfect match. Thanks
Twisted the knob on the bottom front of the refrigerator that holds the filter in place. Inserted new filter and it was done !
First I removed the bolt that holds the cover on the top hinge bracket. Then I removed all items from the shelves inside the door by lifting the shelves out and placing them on the counter. Next I removed the 3 screws holding the hinge bracket on, this disconnects the top of the door from the cabinet. Then I lifted the door off the lower cam, removed the screws that held the cam in place on the door and the lower bracket on the cabinet and replaced the cams. I smeared some Vaselene on the cams and placed the door back on the lower cam, reconnected the upper hinge and replaced the hinge cover. All done and it works great!
The first step was to go to PartSelect.com to find where the filter is located because that is not revealed in Whirlpool's Guide. This refrigerator came with the home I had just puchased so Iwas unfamiliar with the filter replacement. Th filter is on the grill at the bottom of the refrigerator. I followed the instructions helpfully printed on the replacement cartridge box which arrived in less than the 3-5 days acknowledged on my order.Turn the filter handle 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Don't be timid. It was very tight (probably had not been replaced ever). Remove the filter from the handle that protrudes through the grill at the bottom of the front of the refrigerator.Insert the new cartridge into the filter handle insert snugly until it goes no further and turn 1/4 clockwise. The instructions on the replacement cartridge tell you to run the water for 5 minutes to remove air and sediment from the system. DO NOT skip this step. I was. I discovered a large amount of sediment after even three minutes of flushing. A 5-gallon pale will help. And don't forget to turn off the ice maker while you are flushing. Otherwise you will end up with ice cubes everywhere as you try to position the bucket under the water dispenser.
Turned the lock knob on the filter and removed. put lock knob on new filter and installed.Very user friendly website, would highly recommend to anyone.
Removed the old filter (it screws out) an put the new one in!
Used pliers to help turn knob 1/4 turn to left removed filter; replaced with new filter.Probably need new outer cap.
It was really easy to do. The water filter is in the front of the refrigerator. Less than 30 seconds. I am very happy with PartSelect. I bought parts for my dryer too. New lint filter, timer knob and door handle. Parts arrive immediately. I am sure I will be back to PartSelect.com.
Remove the kick panel and simply turn the filter counter clockwise and it slips right out.Water shuts off when filter is removed. After new filter is installed be sure to bleed line thru the water outlet in door to clear air in system. When first water is bled the water will continue to run until line drains. Then comes the air.Bleed until water is clear. Its an easy job and can save you$$$$$.Ray Palm Bch Fl.
Unscrewed the old one (Half turn) and screwed in the new one.
