Removed the door with Socket set & removed the lower door closing cam, replaced it with the new one and reattached the door. Biggest part of the problem was diagnosing the part needed. I replaced the filter while I was at it.
Replaced crisper pan - perfect fit.
Water filter screws out and in, no problem there. The ice maker auger was a little detailed, but I removed all screws and took apart the main components. The auger assembly was reverse threaded, and the blades, etc., all came off in order. Then the old auger drum was removed, new one put on, and the auger assembly reassembled. Then screwed all components back together, put it back in the freezer, and it worked like a charm!
It's very simple and fast to make.
Remove filter, and replace with new one.
After checking the codes, they indicated that the emmitter board was inoperative so I changed the control boards. Very simple and straight forward (about 10 minutes). After changing the boards I double checked the codes, this time the codes indicated the control boards were functioning properly but still no ice. A friend suggested the water feed line could be frozen and defrosting the freezer could possibly resolve the problem. My freezer is full and it will take time to empty it to continue. Any other suggestions in the meantime? Installing the new water filter took about a minute and is working properly.
The glass shelf was broken when I was cleaning the refrigerator. The crisper had broken with daily wear and tear.I was tired of seeing a crisper with duct tape and a shelf replaced by cardboard. I looked online and found the most reasonble prices at this site. My order came extremely quickly! It was so simple to replace the needed areas, including a new water filter. Just Snapped out the old bins and snaped the new ones in . Have not replaced filter yet but it also is a snap.
According to directions on cylinder. I will probably need another filter around june 2012.
Pull the old filter out and replaced it with the new fliltler
put filter in &turn to right to lock in place. I can't get the fliter to go in & lock for some reason. I have changed the filter before realy easy not this time.
Removed lower rackand several old stud rollers . reapplied them and then attached the new wheels The parts arrived within 24 hours of me ordering. Excellent service. Thanks so much
After researching the problem on parts select I found that there were several reasons why the ice maker would stop working. The number one reason was the electronic sensors fail,these tell the ice maker when ice bucket is filled. The light on the electronic eye will blink a code to diagnose the if there is a problem with the sensor. In my case the sensor was bad(the red sensor light would not stay on). The light transmitter is on the right and the reciever is on the left. First make sure there is nothing blocking the holes by cleaning them with a "q" tip. If they still don't work and the blinking code indicates failure them they need to be replaced.The sensors are behind panels on the left and right; each panel had 3 screws that need to be removed. First shut off power to the frig. Once you remove the screws you will find a quick connect attached to a electronic board on each side. Unplug each board and replace with the new part. Replace the panels and turn on the frig to test. The instructions in the parts box will tell you the light codes that will indicate that the boards are working. One note, I did this repair , the sensors were working and I did not get ice after 30-60 minutes.I found out that the water fill tube(black tube at the top of icemaker) was clogged with frozen water thus the ice tray never filled. After clearing out the ice with a small pipe cleaner the ice maker tray fill with water and the ice maker made ice on schedule.
