I removed the glass shelf and drawer, tugged on the frame to snap it out of position, snapped the new frame in place, replaced the shelf and drawer and done... So easy, a 5 year old could do it...
turned off the machine. removed the ice maker door. removed the wiring harness cover. press on locking clips, removed ice maker. disconnect wiring harness. removed three screws from cover and installed on new ice maker. installed in reverse order of removable.
Ordered and installed new icemaker. Still didn't work. Called repairman who replaced cut-off sensor (expensive service call) Worked briefly, then stopped. Service man said new icemaker was defective. Called PartsSelect and they promptly sent another one (great service). Made ice for 12 hours and then stopped. Did nothing for 36 hours and it suddenly started working again and works fine now. Beats me.
REmoved the broken one, put the new one on, just needed my reading glasses to figure out if I had the straight side matched up so it would work. Couldn't have been easier.
Simply turned the original filter counter clockwise, pulled it out and discarded it. Then I inserted the new filter and turned it clockwise. Repair done.
I/4 turn and pull out old filter. Insert new filter and turn 1/4. Shipping time from partselect was unbelievable, one (1) day. Highly recommend this company !!! This site is a great help to the do-it-your-selfer. Thank you.
The hardest part was getting the model number. (My vision is not that good.) After I got the number, the rest was cake! In less than a week, I had it ordered, shipped, delivered and installed!
As shown in your video, very easy, no tools required.
remove-slight turn of filter replace-turn and it was replace
First I removed the ice tray door by lifting and then releasing the hinge. Then I used a nutdriver and socket to remove three recessed screws that are located under the icemaker. I also removed the screw on the underside which holds a plastic flange in place covering the wiring harness. Remove the plastic flange and slide the icemaker out as far as possible, then disconnect the wiring harness from the icemaker. Slide the old unit out and discard. Reverse the procedure to install the new unit. Points of frustration: Disconnecting the wiring harness--it is in there mighty tight! Also, when sliding the new unit into place, clearing the rubber water spout without breaking something is somewahat of a challenge. The unit comes outeasier than it goes back in!
All of 16 seconds. It took longer to get it out of the box than to change it. Untwist the old one, pull it out and replace the new one.
Unscrewed oldfilter and installed new. Very easy repair
for the filter, removed the front fascia of the fridge and pulled out the filter. replacing the filter was very easy-slides right in. for the vent grille, it need to have the metal snaps replaced with a screwdriver and then it snapped right in.
Found the correct part on line, watched a how to vidieo from your web site and replaced it.
