It is simple, unscrew the old screw in the new one.
This is not a repair Job for just any body to do unless you have had some Refrigeration training and some experience !I have been Certified and Licensed on refrigeration systems small, large and very largefor the past 36 years
pop open, unscrew quarter turn, screw new one in quarter turn, pop shut. duh
My parts were very easilyinstalled - a water filter and the grill/tray to the water dispenser. No tools were required! I will definitely use PartSelect again - the reference drawings made it very easy to be sure I was ordering the correct parts.
Once the part arrived, which was very quickly BTW..all I had to do was remove the old filter and then just screw the new one into place....Now I just happen to be both female and blonde but was able to get the job done in less than 15 minutes (that includes opening the box) and with very little water dripping from the old filter!!! Looks like I could work as the Maytag repair woman soon!!
Repair was simple and just as described by several others on this site! From finding the part, ordering, quick shipping and instructions, PartsSelect made this job a breeze to complete.
Open and remove lower cover on filter holder by opening tabs that hold lower cover and remove lower cover.Firmly hold back of unit and firmly hold and turn filter in counter clockwise to unlock and remove.Install new filter by holdin back of unit and install new filter by turning in clock wise direction and then replace lower cover.
Followed directions on filter unit
I first replaced the water valve but the ice maker still didn't work. I then replaced the water filter it is was fine. I would recommend always changing the filter when you change the water valve.
Really easy, simple instructions, and it was on my doorstep 3 days after I ordered. Much simpler than dealing with the appliance store, where I'd have to drive to the store, order the filter, wait 7-10 days, and return to pick it up. Ughh! Internet is the way to go!
Opened up the door that covered the filter, unscrewed it and put the new one in and closed the door back up.
After going to the Amana website and not finding my refrigerator even listed there (it is less than 6 years old) I emailed them, but decided to do my own search and found this website. Ordering the part was easy and was delivered within the week.
Replaced filter and the water started to flow like the Nile River and the ice maker came back to life.
Replaced the left side endcap for the drawer. Three screws and it popped out. Easy process once I actually looked at it. Drawer cover now works as designed. Replaced inline water filter. Not problem there.
