Thermostats are responsible for recognizing the temperature within appliances and communicating with the control board to adjust the level of heating or cooling necessary. This thermostat is designed for and compatible with various models of ranges/ovens and is a genuine OEM part. Thermostats within appliances can become defective or can stop working for a multitude of reasons, such as failure from constant exposure to high temperatures, sensor malfunctions, or electrical issues. Failure to replace the thermostat within your range/oven can result in it not starting, or performing poorly since it cannot regulate its internal temperature. This thermostat does not come with any other parts or hardware necessary to secure it within your range. You can test the thermostat by setting it to bake and confirming its accuracy with a thermometer placed within your range. To replace this thermostat, you will need to disconnect your range from power and pull it out from the wall. Remove its rear panel and locate the thermostat, which will be secured with 2 screws and have wires connected to its terminals. Remove the wire harnesses and screws from the thermostat, at which point you can install the new thermostat and reassemble the rest of your range to test
