YWED9600TZ0 Whirlpool Dryer - Instructions

pretty simple fix not much to it. If you are familiar with electrical work a dryer is just about as basic as it gets. Thermal fuse was bad, swapped it out and up and running again. It took me longer to get the dryer pulled out and cleaned up, than it did to replace the fuse. Wow was it diry back there!

Watched the video but realized my dryer was a little different removed bottom front panel to expose area to remove thermal fuse. Checked for continuity, found that there wasn't any. Ordered part and replaced it, fired right up!!

For 2 years, I propped a broom stick against my dryer door to keep it shut while it was running. Last Sunday night, I decided that it was about time to fix it. I found the PartSelect site, which was extremely easy to navigate, and ordered a replacement kit. It arrived in 2 days via Fed Ex and actually contained extras of each of the 2 components, in slightly different sizes. It took me about 10 minutes of eyeballing the parts to figure out how to place them and about 30 seconds to install the new latch parts. They fit perfectly. Great site, great service, I would highly recommend this site.

Removed back of dryer and the fuse was right there in plain sight. Had to remove a screw and pull contact wires from fuse. Attached wires to new fuse, replaced screw that held fuse in place. Replaced dryer back. This web site is great! Diagnosed my problem, and then received the replacement part the next day! I will use the site again, if necessary, and recommend it to others.

follow the video NOTE the felt seal was about 1.75 inches short. carefully stretch it by standing on it and pulling up on it, gradually increasing force and rotating the seal after holding a stretch for a count of 10. once it's stretched, glue it on pretty quick, it will shrink back again. this was the only surprise I encountered. my dryer runs like new now.

I replaced the thermal fuse and it started right up.

Seriously, there's no need to explain how to do it because the video shown on how to change the thermal fuse is as precise and accurate as it can get. You should have no problem switching out the thermal fuse as long as you have watched the video!

The power would go on but the machine didn't turn so the first thing I did was input make into google search and found blogs and how to videos. Numerous blogs stated the thermal fuse was the issue so we purchased a thermal fuse and Internal-bias thermistor also since they are right next to one another. After receiving the parts you have to disassemble the dryer even removing the drum but it's not hard at all (watch video). I replaced the parts, reassembled the dryer and it worked fine. Without a doubt, this place was not only the cheapest in cost but I received the parts in 3 days. The fed-x states 3 days to deliver but I received in 1 1/2 days from when they picked up the part. Very happy all the way around!!

took the back panel off by unscrewing all the little nuts..replaced thermal fuse and put back panel and screws back on...

Determined via multimeter that either the thermostat or thermal fuse were not working, so ordered the kit (best value, contains both parts).Easiest access is from the rear, so removed rear panel and top of dryer (required) and also the vent tube since it was in the way. Unhooked wires from both parts, used socket to remove nuts holding each one on, put new ones in place, re-attached wires. Replaced vent tube, vacuumed entire inside of dryer (good idea). Put back/top back on and the dryer worked/heated perfectly immediately.

Six(6) screws were removed to separate the front and rear sections of the dryer door to get access to the rear of the catch.Pliers were used to maneuver the catch through the opening in the cabinet from the rear. The new catch was easily snapped into the catch opening from the front of the door.

Used wire schematic and locate thermal fuse. Disconnect power and remove rear panel. About 8 screws. Remove the two wires from fuse and check fuse continunity. Fuse was open and prevented power from going to gas solenoids. Replace fuse and clean exhaust ducts. Dirty ducts might have caused fused to over heat.

I went on the PartSelect site and watched some videos to determine what could be wrong. I almost guessed and bought the wrong part as there were a few. I ended up spending $17 for a multi tester. Once I determined that the thermal fuse was bad. I just followed the instructions from the video and replaced it. Took me more time figuring out what part was bad and buying the tester than actually replacing the part. Very glad I bought the multi tester watched the videos. After that it was easy.
