I emptied all the water with a cup and laid the washer down on its back on the bathroom floor, ( it is a portable), with a few small pots and rags handy to collect water, just in case.
I inspected the placement of the broken drain pump, I took photographs of all the wires placements and screws. I removed the broken drain pump photographing each step, then attached the new drain pump following each step in reverse and attached the 2 colored wires to the remains of the colored wires attached to the washer. I used electric tape to isolate and cover completely the exposed wires parts i joined. I then screwed everything back in place. I put the washer upright, connected the electrical cord and did a test. It is working great, and the water is draining well! It took me over 30 minutes, as the space under the machine, where the drain pump lodges, is quite tight and I needed a flash light.
