WTR430ES1 Westinghouse Washer - Instructions

I used a screwdriver to screw on the new door strike. Problem solved!

Removed two screws, installed new piece.

Took the back off the machine. pulled out the old shocks and installed the new. Put the back on. Simple

Followed The instructions provided by "Part Select". Having a stacked washer & Dryer I removed the dryer and the electrical and water connections and the back panel on the washer. After that disassembley was relatively easy. Unfortunately, I got over-zelaous and removed more than I had too. Once apart I found that the Spider Arm on the Inner tub was broken. Bought the parts and reassembled in reverse order using the photos I took upon disassembley. (Trusting memory is not always the best way to go) The thing that irritated me was not being able to purchase the Spider Arm separate from the Inner Tub. Apparently Kenmore wasn't satisfied with their profit margin so they found a way to jack the price up. Regardless, I saved a lot of money and the Washer is running like a top. Parts delivery was as advertised.

Easy repair, buy shipping took much longer than advertised!

I read other problems, I jumped the gun and purchased the door switch, this was easy to change, but MY machine still had the same issues, however, I found that the filter was plugged, and after I cleaned this out, this fixed my issues and the machine works fine, So I now have a door switch and striker should mine go bad, Hope this helps out

the existing pin was in backwards and to get it out was a problem because there was not enough room behind the pin to get it out.also i thiugh there was 2 pins in the kit and there was only one.

Take a deep breath and say, "I can do this. I will not pay well over $100 for someone else to come and do it."! Identifying part easy, mail very quick, web instructions clear, took out two screws, slipped out old part, put in new one, replace screws. I loved every minute of it and it cost $16.20 (part and shipping). Thanks, Part Select!

Removed two screws on the back of the washer top to release the top on the washer. Slid the top off and removed it. Opened washer door and removed two screws securing the door lock assembly to the washer frame. Reached in from the top of the washer to get the door lock assembly. Unplugged the old door lock assembly in three places and plugged the new assembly in in the same three places. Placed the new assembly in the same place as the old one and secured it to the washer frame with the same two screws located on the inside of the door. Replaced washer top and secured two screws at the top back edge of the washer... Tried the spin mode and everything worked great!!!

Unscrewed two phillips head screws, removed damaged part, screwed on replacement part. Presto! Washer works again. I especially appreciated receiving the part less than 48 hours after I ordered it with only regular shipping charge.

Watched the handy-dandy video, removed the defective part, waited for delivery, installed the new part and was back washing another load (minus the wet floor) in less than 10 minutes! Just one catch, I am a 56yo female with nominal hand strength, so technically, I had to recruit the help of a (stronger) person to tighten-up those self-tapping screws. I didn't feel so weak when I noticed that he had some difficulty as well. LOL! Ladies, don't be shy asking for help-I even tried the power drill with no success. Excellent video! Aside from the self-tapping screws, my grand-daughter could have managed this repair!

For the washer/Dryer combo, replacing water valve was easy, first you need to remove washer front panel and top lid, make sure that washer electrical is unplugged, turn off gas, turn off water valves.remove 1-screw holding water valve. reaching from top and using pliers remove retention clip holding hose. remove old water valve, there are two electrical connections for cold and hot water valves, make sure you mark them, remove them from old water valve. insert new water valve, connect hose and make sure that retaining clip is connected correctly.connect electrical wires. screw water valve into place from rear of washer. connect water hoses. before connecting panel and lid, turn on water valves and observe if there is any water leaks.

I am a 64 year old female that had never attempted to fix anything. This was my 1st attempt at fixing something. It took longer to look for phillips screwdriver than it took took to repair it. Thank you so much for instructions.

lean washer back against wall, remove 2 screws from lower front panel.remove spring from front panel boot seal, pull seal loose from front panel, squeeze clamp and pull seal from detergent fill tube,remove spring from rear seal/ boot to drum, watch to see how it is attached to ease install of new one.lube new seal/boot rear section with dish soap. push seal on to drum working clockwise from top. it is difficult to get started, make sure arrow is pointing straight up at 12:00 oclock. replace spring around boot, start at one end and use spacers provided,have some one help with this. rest is simple. clip on detergent boot and use needle nose pliers to replace clamp, (a little difficult)crap type clamp. install seal to front panel and install spring. Done in about 1 hour. Directions were photo copy and dark and hard to see pictures.

Took cover off bottem on front of washer and pulled pins out of shocks. Put new shocks in and put the pins back in and reinstalled the cover. It was a easly fix and looking up the parts needed and ordering them was made easy by PartSelect.
