WRT779REYM01 Whirlpool Refrigerator - Instructions

Instead of trouble shooting what part was bad, just replaced the whole unit. Probably cheaper in the long run and the whole process took less than 15 minutes. Pulled the old icemaker out, plugged in the new one and back in business.

Unplug refrigerator.loosen 2 screws,take bottom screw out.Unplug electric connector,take off ice arm,install on new ice maker.Reinstall maker.plug in refrigerator.Really easy to install!

I unplugged the unit Frist. Then I removed the grill covering the compressor and fan from the back. I then located the rear wheel and pin. I bent down the retaining tab and removed the pin and wheel. I installed new wheel and pin and bent retaining tab back to origional location. Replaced grill and checked unit for proper operation.

disconnected el. power to fridge. pried out broken switch with small screwdriner and pulled out w/water pump pliers. installed new switch and pressed into opening.

Following the info on another post from partselect site: Unplug the main refridgerator line from the outlet. Removed icemaker(didn't have this hooked up to operate), 2 screws and 1 hex nut; removed back panel of freezer wall (interior), be mindful of wiring harness on the left of panel, 2 hex nuts: unplugged fan motor from wiring harness, removed motor with 2 screws, gently, but firmly pulled fan blade off (a little tricky due to housing bracket around it) carefully noting 2 soft rubber gaskets that holds the unit in bracket. replace motor with new one ... follow above steps in reverse. helpful to have a small flashlight. make sure soft rubber gaskets are seated in place. Fan blade requires a firm but gentle push back on the metal post ... bottom of back panel seats over an opening in order for it to fit snug against the wall. I am totally satisfied with the info and seamless, expediant service with partselect ... thank-you so much ..

I was able to verify that the water inlet valve was ok based on shorting the test points as described in the online ice maker troubleshooting guide. I then ordered the replacement ice maker and received it within 3 days. The repairs went very smooth, remove 3 screws, unplug connector, transfer shutoff wire to new unit, connect power, replace 3 screws. Done. Ice bucket was full within 24 hours.

I watched the parts select YouTube video. The repair was a piece of cake. We now have ice again. The part was correct and arrived in just 48 hours. Perfect in every way.

I watched the video and made sure my replacement ice maker matched the original. On my particular icemaker/refigerator combination, the electrical connection was slightly different than what was shown in the video, but the process for removal and replacement was very similar. I believe if more videos were available that were of the quality of the one on this website, there would be more people attempting to replace parts. I believe I saved over $200 by doing it myself. Kudos to the website and video people.

i removed the back cover off in the icebox,removed the fan motor,replace the new one now it works fine.very easy to do,saved alot of money on a new one.

I had ordered some other parts for something entirely different off your website and service was great. So after almost ten years of a dark refrigerator, because of a defective switch, I decided to see if you had the part to fix it... You did and the part got here in 3 days. I had a working light switch and all the light in the world where my husband needed it most (in the fridge). It took me at the most ten minutes to replace the part. Took the old fan motor out and installed the new one. Wow it's getting cool now. Thank You Parts select for the information on your site. Fast shipping. Very pleased I found your site, which stated it was the fan motor 45% of the time. It saved me from having to have a repairman come to my home. I called one but he did'nt work in this area. They gave me another man's number, and I called and left a message on the recorder, but he never got back to me. So I was happy to have found your site. Thank You again!

Unplugged refrigerator and shut off water supply. My husband took out the ice cube tray, loosened 2 nuts (?) and took out 1 screw. Removed the old unit. Set in the new unit and tightened the two nuts and replaced the screw. That's it! (Parts arrived in 1 1/2 days!)

Take off the old one and maounted the new one and get a lots of ice lol, thanks
