WRT21S4AQ1 Westinghouse Refrigerator - Instructions

Slipped the end caps on the bar and reinstalled in refrigerator. Took less thsn 2 minutes.

Put the glass in slot and it fit perfectly

Used wood blocks to raise the door off the lower hinge bracket then unscrewed the suspect hinge. Cut a small shim, two layers of soda can, to place under the lower edge of the new hinge bracket and doubled the washers by using the old one to ensure I had adequate clearance for the door. After a little silicone lube I installed the new hinge bracket. All better now.

I first thought the defroster heater broke - took the back wall of the freezer off and cooling fins were fine. Then took the defroster timer out and opened it up. The contacts were badly burnt so the compressor and fan ran during only part of the cooling cycle. Replacing the timer took less than 5 minutes - turn off the power, remove one screw to take out the control box, cut the ground wire (new timer housing is plastic and does not have a ground connection), remove two screws to unmount the timer, unplug the old timer, plug in the new timer, fasten with two screws, put the control unit in and fasten with one screw, turn power back on.

I ordered the replacement part on-line. When I received the part, I realized it was the wrong part. I contacted PartSelect and worked with the service representative, Julie H. She was excellent!! She determined that I had used an incorrect model number, and then she directed me to where I could find the correct number. The parts arrived next day from Parts Select even though I only had them shipped FedEx Ground and were an exact replacement for the OEM parts. It only took 5 minutes to remove the old parts and replace them with the new ones using a nut runner, lineman dikes, and two wire nuts. I had the repairs completed in 5 minutes but it was actually the compressor that was shot and not the relay and run capactor. End of the day the $60 I spent in parts was cheaper than the $500 quote the local appliance guy gave me and confirmed the same thing...fridge was dead and needed to be replaced. My wife it happy now that we have a new, larger, stainless fridge ;) Thank you Parts Select for quick service and exact fitting parts!

I ordered a new door gasket and defrost timer ,which this site recommended. The parts came in two days time (y) excellent !! I watched the video for the timer on the parts list and the replacement was so easy. By the way im a woman lol ,anyone can do this and the new gasket took like 5 mins . Im keeping my fingers crossed this eliminates my top glass flood problem. This site is wonderful thank you carol

Pryed the old loose catch is on the bottom used a common screw driver.pulled the two wires off reversed the procedeure to put the new switch in.took about 5 minutes.

Looked up troubleshooting info on your web site. Decided to replace the defrost timer. Ordered it using Paypal. Received the Shipment in about 1.5 days in Rural NC. Watched Your Video, cut off power to the fridge, removed the top self and unbolted the panel, removed the defective defrost timer, installed the new one and re-installed the panel and top shelf. Set the timer to defrost to check the operation (looked inside the freezer to see that the defroster was glowing red - it was) waited about twenty minutes to ensure that the fridge started cooling again. Fixed!

There is a local appliance parts store that charges high prices but one can return parts. I ordered 3 things and they got ONE correct. I thought I can do better than this. I went on line and found PART SELECT which provides very good schematics so I could order my own parts with confidence. I got a lll the correct parts, quicker and at a very good price. II have a lot of apartments so this is IMPORTANT to me. PARTSELECT is now my GO To for appliance repairs

Removed old fan motor and installed new one.Not much room for big hands back there.Flexible extensions valuable on this job.

Instructions from partselect were very clear and probable cause made it easy to narrow things down. I have the manual for the refrigerator that shows the location of the defrost timer. Very surprised that it turned out to be a cheap and easy fix.

Ordered whole new retainer assembly. New bar was incorrect part, but endcaps were OK, so got old part out of the garbage and straightened damaged areas, used new endcaps, and reinstqalled on door. Works.

The glass inserted easily into the space formerly occupied by the original shelf

took off cardboard removed two screws holding fan housing. Removed new fan and housing from box and mounted new fan to new housing (two screws). Installed new fan and housing. reinstalled cardboard and plunged in power cord. Perfect fit.
