Broken Ice Actuator
Went relitively easy. Simple to take apart. Ordered another ribbon too, figured while I was in there if I messed it up atleast I would have another. Had to use a long thin screwdriver to guide the water hose back on. Would like to see parts come with a diagram though.

light socket burned out
snapped the wires from frig onto the proper prong and viola,it works. The proper prong is identified by the size because there are two prongs with the wires and two connecting prongs in the socket. I talked to a very helpful representative and she gave me the number for Frigidaire, when I was confused by the placement of the wire. Wish I had remembered her name to share with you. As it turned out I didn't need to call Frigidaire.

Refrigerator Door Hinge Problem
I first ordered the part from a local appliance/repair store in my area. The part was way over priced and they had ordered the wrong part when I went to pick it up. I had provided a picture of the part I need to them / it didn't help. I searched the internet for the needed part and found PartSelect. I found the exact part "I thought I needed" and also saw an additional hinge part that fit in the bottom of the door. I purchased both (figured if one was worn out the other would be soon). Turned out that it was "the additional part" that I needed. I would recommend that you suggest both parts when doing this particular repair. I also liked the fact that you provided pictures of the parts in question . . . recognized it immediately from your site. The repair video provided on the PartSelect sight was very helpful. The repair was a breeze for an old woman. I was very happy with the person who took my order (she was very nice and very professional); and the speed in which I received the part. PartSelect is now saved in my favorites for future reference. I recommend them highly. Thanks for your help. Beverly Brunner

Refrigerator and freezer were not cooling properly
I can fix just about anything, but when I'm approaching to fix an item that I have previously no experience with I always do some research before attempting a repair. Once I diagnosed the problem (The evaporator fan was not kicking on), I purchased both the thermostat and fan because either one of them could be the source as to why the refrigerator was not working. Unless you want to drink room temperature milk for three to four more days, I highly recommend that you replace both. After cleaning out the freezer and removing the pull out bucket, I removed the screws and pulled out the metal enclosure. The fan was easy to take out along with the thermostat. The time consuming part of the repair was splicing the old wiring harness with the new thermostat and condenser fan since the replacement condenser fan had a different wiring harness. I had to heat sink the butt splice connectors and I wrapped all the wires in a cold weather electric tape. After that I plugged the refrigerator right in and to my delight it worked :) I love this website because it is very user friendly accompanied with fast and efficient shipping. Thanks again!
