Where is the water filter and how do I change it?
For model number WRF736SDAW12
PartSelect logo
Hello Mary, thank you for writing in. The water filter compartment is located in the right-hand side of the refrigerator ceiling. Push up on the compartment door to release the catch, then lower the door. Take the water filter, part number PS11722126 out of its packaging and remove the cover from the O-rings. Be sure the O-rings are still in place after the cover is removed. Turn the filter clockwise 90 degrees (1/4turn), until it locks into the housing. NOTE: If the filter is not correctly locked into the housing, the water dispenser will not operate. Water will not flow from the dispenser. While the compartment door is still open, lift the filter up into the compartment. Then, close the filter compartment door completely. Flush the water system. To Flush the system, 1.Using a sturdy container, depress and hold the water dispenser paddle for 5 seconds. 2. Release the dispenser paddle for 5 seconds. Repeat steps 1 and 2 until water begins to flow. 3. Once water begins to flow, continue depressing and releasing the dispenser pad (5 seconds on, 5 seconds off) until a total of 3 gal. (12 L) has been dispensed. We hope this helps.

Ice dispenser motor burnt out, water got inside.
Purchased new motor from Partselect.com. When it arrived it came with a new rubber washer that fitted on top of new motor that was not on old motor, that how water got into old motor. However, the instruction sheet did not give info on how to access the proper way to the motor that is the door. Not wanting to damage the freezer door assy. called in a tech who made it look easy, but even he had a little problem locating access panel that was directly under the motor in the freezer side of the door. After that it was a piece of cake.

while closing the door, the light switch fouled, resulting in the switch breaking
I used a flat screwdriver and released the lock tab on the bottom of the light switch, and pried the switch out, being careful to not damage the plastic around the mounting place of the switch, unplugged wiring from old switch, plugged in the new one and pushed the new switch into place. Job finished light switch now working.
