Hello, the fan is not working on my microwave. Turntable works fine, digital time can be tapped in ok. And inside light is ok. The microwave goes on when cold, but shuts off before time ends. What do i need to get the fan to work ? Thanks for your help.

Hello Helen, There are door switches in a microwave which must be sealed tightly for the microwave to operate properly. If the microwave runs for a few seconds and then shuts off, the door switch might be defective or loose. The three switches are Microwave Door Interlock Switch PartSelect Number PS2361111. Door Switch - 3 Terminal PartSelect Number PS10057151. Door Switch PartSelect Number PS2361113. We hope this helps.

Our microwave and hood work fine but does not heat up anything. There is a symbol when it is running in the lower left screen that lights up-it is a box with 3 squiggly lines in it. Can you help figure out what is wrong?

The nightmare was that this microwave is installed under the cabinet....in order to get to the light bulb I had to pull out my stove then squeeze into the space between the stove and counter....my old microwave light bult was much easier to change.....Shame on Whirlpool for making this so difficult.....must be a better way to cover the li

Bulb "burnt out"
Removed 1 screw, removed "burnt out" bulb and replaced it with new bulb.

Microwave not heating, working otherwise
This was an over-the-range microwave/hood, so the replacement parts were significantly cheaper than buying a new unit.
Take microwave down (really a two-person job). Remove microwave cover (about 20 philips screws), discharge HV capacitor by shorting terminals to microwave case. Take photos before pulling anything apart. R ... Read more emove plastic ducting covering part of the magnetron (3 philips screws). Remove old magnetron (4 Torx screws), need to disconnect small thermostat on side (2 philips screws) and replace with new magnetron. Replace HV diode (screw on one end, other end simply plugged into capacitor terminal). Put everything back together and it works fine.
