This is a radiant surface element with limiter, and it works in conjunction with your range. The function of this part is to give heat to the surface directly above it, on cooking area stove top. This model is sold individually and is 1200 watts. The main reason for needing to replace this part is if your element will not heat. Before ordering, make sure to test your stove top radiant element for continuity to make sure it is the problem. To make this installation you will need a Phillips screwdriver, and a 14-inch nut driver.

Hot Burner Light always on

Thermal switch is integral to element and can not be changed, must replace entire element.

Turn off power. Removed front two screws above oven door jamb and lifted the top. Removed the bracket that holds the element against the glass top and removed the element. Moved brackets from old element to new one, aligning to same numerical position and then moved wiring to new element. Slide new element under bracket and reinstalled single screw. Replaced top and screwed down. Turn on power and test .

Right rear burner went bad

Turned the breaker off, I removed 2 screws securing the range top to the range, opened the top and secured it in the up position, Removed the 2 screws securing the element ,one at a time I swapped the quick connectors from the old element to the new and repeated the process in reverse. I save over $100.00 in labor, plus most companies get you for a trip charge. It was easy!!

This bake element is located at the bottom of the oven to supply heat and it has push-on terminals. If your baking element is burnt out, the heat is not consistent, or is defective, then replacing the element could be a solution to your appliance problem. The tools needed for this replacement are: a screwdriver and needle-nose pliers. The first step in is to unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker before starting. Unscrew the black of the oven cavity to pull out wires from the defective element. Reconnect wires to the new element and screw it back on. Make sure the element is sitting flat.

heating element burnt up

first I pulled the stove from the wall. Then unplugged the stove from the wall (electric stove) for safety. then I removed the middle back panel screws(2) and then the panel. I then pulled the wires off the heating element that was bad. I took the screws (2) off the heating element inside the oven. I had to use WD-40 to loosen the screws because with the heat they were really stuck. I removed the heating element and replaced it with the one I got through partselect.com. Put everything back and walla finished. Partselect.com sent me the right part at the right price and fast. No hassles at all.

This surface burner element switch is for an 8-inch surface burner on an oven, stove, or range. The element switch controls the heat of the surface burner. Disconnect power to your range before completing this repair because you will be working closely with electrical circuits. Remove the screws from back panel and the console, and remove the console to expose the switch. It is recommended to check for overheating or arcing on the wiring harness in case they need to be replaced as well. The harness that connects to the switch features a slip-on terminal for easy installation.

Burner would go high without warning

We felt the only possible problem could be the switch assembly. I removed the switch panel, removed the wires from the old switch, one at a time, removed the old switch assembly and installed the new switch assembly. The extended stem did have to be snapped off (per your instructions) and that too was a very simple task.

removed the screws holding the back metal panel, this exposed the wires to the switch. tested the wires to find that they were live when the switch was in the off position. ordered a new switch. UNPLUGED THE STOVE. removed the knob on the front of the stove. this exposed 2 screws, removed screws and the switch came away from the stove. removed each wire from the old switch and replaced them in the same position on the new switch. inserted new switch into the stove and attached the 2 screws. replaced back panel and pluged in stove. all tested well

This broil element supplies heat for cooking purposes and is located in the roof of an oven. If you find there is little to no heat when cooking, a burned-out element, or food is taking too long to cook, these symptoms could be solved by replacing this part. Before starting this replacement, make sure you unplug the range from the power source or shut off from the house circuit breaker. All you need to complete this repair is a Phillips screwdriver. For safety reasons, make sure to wear gloves. Refer to the manual provided by the manufacturer for more instruction.

Oven doesn't heat evenly

Moved the stove out from the wall. Took out the screws from the back and then from the top. I pulled the piece through the back to unplug the clips from the elements. But the wires went back through the openings. So I had to take the back off of the stove to get to the wires to put back through the holes in the stove. Once the clips were back together, I put the back back on the stove. Rebolted the part to the stove and moved it back.

The broiler element started sparking and melting in one spot. I thought it would catch on fire and quickly turned off the oven.

First we unplugged the range. My husband removed the old element using a screw driver. He also removed the back panel on the oven after pulling it out from the wall. He unplugged the broiler prongs and plugged in the new element, put it all back together using the screw driver. We plugged it back in, turned on the oven and it is working great! Simple and easy to do in a short amount of time. Cool!!

This part is for oven ranges, it connects individual wires and protects the device from electrical surges, voltages, and current. With this part, the house power is connected to the range wire harness. Some symptoms replacing the terminal block could be a solution for are little to no heat when baking, element will not heat and/or it will not start. This part will prevent loosening and will reduce damage caused by corrosion (by two different metals). Refer to the instructional diagram for further replacement guidance and exact placement. You must unplug the appliance before installing this part and wear gloves to protect your hands.

Stove top wouldn't come on. Oven couldn't go higher than low heat

Had a technician from Home Advisor to check the problem out with my Whirlpool Double oven(1 1/2 old). Paid $60 to find the problem. According to the technician problem was control board and cost of labor and parts $465.00
Jumped on Part Select website, placed a question with my stove problem through the chat. Immediately they answered my question and told me the problem was the Terminal Block. Cost of part and shipping $25.00. Replaced it myself and everything works fine.
Thank you, Thank you Part Select for your help and honesty.

The Range took forever to achieve the proper heating temperature with an inability to maintain a steady heat

I removed the bottom drawer, unplugged the Range and pulled it out to expose the rear cover panel. Using a nut driver (a screw driver can be used), I removed the rear panel to expose the Thermal fuse located almost dead center in the back of the Range. Unplug the two wires and loosen the screw holding it in position. Replace the thermal fuse, plug the two wires into the new part and replace the rear cover panel. Return the Range to its original position and plug it in. The job is done in less than 30 minutes.

This oven temperature sensor, for ranges, works together with the oven control board to measure and regulate the oven temperature. The sensor detects the temperature in the oven cavity. If the following symptoms occur, replacing the temperature sensor could be the solution: Little or no heat when baking, oven not heating evenly, oven will not start, and/or oven is overheating. Often, if the sensor is defective, the oven temperature will fluctuate and be inaccurate by more than 50 degrees. The tool needed for this replacement is a #2 square head screwdriver or a #2 Philips screwdriver. Remember to unplug the range before installing the part.

temperature not accurate after 3 1/2 years of happy usage

Opened up the back of the stove. Unpluged the sensor. Replaced the sensor. Replace the back of the stove.

The sensor that has been replaced is not what is expected. After reading all of the instructions for adjusting the temperatures, the only temp that stays steady is when we first turn on the oven to 350 degrees. That stays steady but when I turn it to 400 it slowly goes up to 425 degrees.
