W205KAC Magic Chef Washer - Instructions

I did it just like a video was showing. This was really good instructional video.

Tilt washer back and pop belt on bottom of washer. Use putty knife to open top of washer 2 clips 2 inches in from both sides. Use racket to open and remove front panel of washer. use racket to remove 3 screws that hold pump to base of washer. pliers to remove clamps for intake and output hoses. use small bucket to catch water in hoses and pump. Replace pump unit, put screws in, put pump clamps on, put front panel back on , snap down top of unit, put belt back on pulleys and your done.

The video on PartSelect.com regarding replacing the washer machines drain pump with pulley was extremely helpful. By following the simple instructions as shown in the video, I was successful in replacing my washing machines pump in less than an hour, and saved myself the labor costs a repairman would have charged me for a really simple and easy repair job. I was also extremely happy and impressed with PartSelect.com. The price I paid for the part was very competitive and arrived within 3 days. I was very glad to see the pump and pulley assembly was a Whirlpool factory certified part and not a knock-off or reconditioned part.

I followed write ups on this web site and the job was straight forward. As far as the washer brake rotor I did not need to replace it. After removing the six screws that cover the assembly I noticed some rust and dirt so cleaned it with degreaser and reassembled it. I have no loud screeching sounds when the spin cycle comes to an end. As always PartSelect did a great job getting the correct parts to me with in a few days, thanks.

Removing and replacing the pump was a very easy process. Once the belt was removed on the bottom of the machine, I removed the back plate to gain access to the pump. Three screws and a couple of clamps holding the hoses on the pump. There was a little more water in the pump during removal than anticipated. Other than that, it was an easy fix.

I followed the very useful videos for replacing the water pump and drive belt. My machine has the water pump located in the back (different than the video) so removing the front of the washer was not necessary. However, by doing so, I noticed some interior rust from bleach-tray spills which I easily fixed with a wire brush and some spray paint. The pump was easily removed by loosening 3 bolts (per the video) but through an access plate in the back. The only surprise was that there was considerable water in the pump hoses and I needed a bigger catch tray to collect the water than I expected.

lifted the front of the washer on a 45% angle,leaned it against the wall and gained access to the bottom and the belt,rolled the old belt off,it was very stretched came off easily,rolled the new one on and that was it.

all I did was take the back panel off unhook the hoses from the drain pump and took the screw out the drain pump replace it with the new one put it back together,and roll the drive belt onto the pulleys and started it up and it work just like a brand new one. also run very quiet since i replaced the drive belt also.

I used the Instant-Repairman tool on the site to help identify the problem. It said I needed a new Drain Pump, I purchased it and a new belt which was not recommended but I figured couldn't hurt. Then I removed the belt from 3 pulleys on bottom of machine. Next I removed the access panel from back of machine. Then I disconnected both hoses from drain pump and removed it from washer by loosening the 3 machine screws. I installed the new drain pump with the 3 machine screws and reattached both hoses to new drain pump. I re installed the access panel and re installed the belt over 3 pulleys on bottom of machine. Presto - no loud noises.

All that had to be done was pull the washer out from the wall, tilt it back and roll the belt off one of the three pulleys and it fell right off of the other two. To install the new belt place it around two of the pulleys and roll it over the edge of the last one. Actually took 15 seconds to change it. Getting the washer out and ready took the most time. Now there is NO noises when it agitates or spins. LOVE IT!

This is a quick and easy repair. Start by using the putty kiife to depress and unlock the washer top. Remove the front panel of the washer by removing the two screws on eithe side at the top. The front panel then lifts off. Next you will want to tilt the unit up and remove the fan belt. Put the washer back down flush and remove the hoses to the drain pump located at the front an right side of the bottom plate. Once the hoses are removed you can remove the three retnetion screws, take the pump out, put the new pump in and fianlly replace the rentention screws and hoses. Put everything back together in reverse order and don't forget the fan belt. Takes all of 15 minutes of your time and you save 150 dollars labor.

Slip wire clamps over tube ends. push hose ends over connections, move clamps over hose end, making sure clamps are centered on connections. Easy as could be.

Unrolled the old one off. And rolled the new on .by pulling the driver pulley

Tipped washer backwards and removed belt from all three pulleys. Stood washer upright again and removed back panel around pump(4-screws)Removed drain hose from house drain and emptied excess water in the pump into a bucket. Removed the hoses from the drain pump then removed the three bolts holding the pump in place. Removed damaged pump and replaced with new drain pump. Reassembled in reverse order. Once the pump cover was replaced, tipped machine on its back, replaced the belt onto the three pulleys and promptly returned machine to its upright position and ran a test load of laundry! Success! Works great!

Took the back off, located problem, ordered part, removed old part, installed new one, tilled washer to put belt back on. Whole process not bad at all. Working with this site was so very helpful, will keep in in my favorites or future use. Thank You Parts Select!
