FILTER-AIR;SMH7175,AL-ME

This is a bottom-mounted air filter manufactured for a microwave. The microwave air filter filters the air flowing in and out of the microwave, and traps grease from the exhaust. A dirty or clogged filter can alter the taste and smell of your food or cause the appliance to be less efficient. This filter is approximately 13+ inches wide and 6 inches deep. This part is sold separately. No tools are required for this repair, the filter simply slides in and out of the underside of your microwave. Micro Switch

This is a micro switch, which is also known as a door switch for your microwave. The main reason for needing to replace this part is if you are not getting heat to your appliance. The door switch is located behind the front panel of your appliance. When the appliance door closes, this part will make contact with the door hook, which will allow the microwave to heat. Use caution when making this installation, as high-voltage capacitors found in microwaves can hold a lethal electric charge for longer periods of time, even if the appliance has been unplugged. It is recommended you wear work gloves for this repair.

Door Key

The microwave door key (or door latch) ensures that the microwave door closes properly while the microwave is operating. If the door key is broken, the door will not close and the microwave will not start. If you notice that the microwave door is not staying closed, check to ensure that the door key is in working order and is not damaged. This door key is made of plastic and has a spring attached to provide downward tension to keep the hooks engaged. If either of the hooks is broken or does not have any spring tension, you may need to replace the door latch. Before beginning this repair, make sure to unplug the unit and remove the inner door panel to access the door key. This part is also known as a door latch.
