Igniter turned red but oven would not light
Remove broiler pan, disconnect wires from igniter to gas safety valve and connection in back corner of stove, under a metal plate held in with one screw. Remove two screws holding igniter in and take it out. With new igniter, cut neutral wire as per instructions with it, attach electrical clips to the wire ends, install the new igniter with the two screws, plug in the two wire clips to the safety valve just below the igniter and plug in the plastic clip with both wires going into it over in the corner of the stove, and replace the cover over that connection with the one screw, which you removed at the beginning of this process, and you're done.

burned oven bulb
The hardest part was taking out original light bulb because screws on shield where hard to unscrew after all this years . The old bulb vent out leaving neck in socket. It took narrow electrical pliers to get neck out .The generic appliance bulb did not fit and had aluminum neck ,not recommended for brass sockets in ovens.Putting new light bulb in was not the problem.

Oven gas/safety valve would not open.
My 1st thought was that the valve was bad but after watching a whirlpool video on how to trouble shoot I put an amp probe on the wire to the igniter and discovered that the amp draw was not getting high enough to open the valve. The vale calls for 3 amps but the amps on the igniter only got up to 2.4 amps even though the igniter was glowing red hot. I ordered the new igniter from PartSelect and it was here in less then 2 days. It was a perfect fit and took about 30 mins. to install and it works perfectly. I also ordered a motor and a blower wheel for a Whirlpool Electric Dryer, Model #LEC8858EQO, and it arrived in less than a day and again both items were an exact fit and the dryer now works perfectly. Great service and fast response by PartSelect. I will defiantly use PartSelect again.

Oven /Broiler would not ignite
Determined problem was probably the igniter and ordered one. Watched internet video on igniter replacement. When igniter came read instructions and found them incomplete and ambiguous. Turned off current to stove. As per video removed oven door, racks, bottom of oven and flame deflector (only one nut holding in place.) Could then see how existing igniter was wired and understood instructions that came with igniter. Followed instructions for installation and replaced previously removed parts. Turned electricity back on and the oven/broiler gas ignited as per usual. Job took me about an hour. Could do again in 15 minutes.
