replaced the dual water inlet valve

I unplugged the washer, removed the 4 knobs and unscrewed the 4 screws from the top of the front panel and moved it forward. I then disconnected the wiring and the 5 screws that hold the control assembly in place. I then reversed the steps with the new part. I have used the washer 3 times since the repair and the washer works perfect.

pushed replacement knob on shaft of dryer. machine works better than new. took less than 24 hours from time of order to time of delivery to my house.

at 1st, i call GE for service, but i have to wait for the next available field service engineer which is 7 to 8 days to come to my place to check on the washer. the cost is $99.00(non refundable) and then he will order the parts needed for repair another 2 to 3 days. then i decided to buy the parts myself online,and google the web on "how to fix the washer that stopped agitating" everythings in there,with video instruction. pull the agitator up and out by grabbing on to its base. inside, the knot was corroded and the o ring worn out,but really easy to remove with the 11mm socket. the coupling kit although looks different,fit perfectly. insert says its an upgrade of the old model. toss the old and replace with the new, no sweat! now it's shaking like crazy.

Removed the four torx-head screws on the top of the washer. Pulled the control panel forward. Removed the four screws on the back of the washer and the two screws that held the dual valve on. These six screws required a nut driver. Pulled the small hose off the old valve. Then reversed the procedure. Total time to replace the faulty old part was about ten minutes. With saftey in mind, disconnect the electrical cord and shut the water valves off at the wall.

I followed the on-line video with just one exception and I had the old part off in less than 5 minutes. I ordered the part on Saturday afternoon and I had the part in hand by Wednesday morning at around 11:00 am. I spent less time installing the coupling kit than it took to take it apart and had 2 loads of clothes done before going to work on second shift. I would recommend anyone needing help contact Parts Select. They were great and very helpful.

The agitator is the tough thing to remove, I took a previous posters advice and used a rope and 2 boards to pull it up. I will describe it as many short ropes but it can be done without cutting the rope if you think a lot about it. loop the a rope under the agitator so its under 1/2, loop another rope under the other side. tie both loops so you can slide a board in each across the top of the washer. Then tie the 2 loops together on 2 sides down near the bottom of the agitator otherwise they will come out from under it when you pull. then slide the boards in the loops and lift up pulling up the agitator.That is the hard part. Remove the bolt on the coupling, and pull it off. The new one had to be lightly hammered on with a rubber mallet, then use the new bolt. the Agitator slide down and with a push down it popped on. Putting the new part on only took 15 min, removing the broken one took about 45 min. Washer is woking great now ! Saved over $100 or buying a new washer !

Took out the old part and easily replaced it with the new part.

pulled out the center agitator, undid the nut , put the new one on , easiest repair ever, less that 13 dollars. and the part came in 2 days, wow, I am impressed with your company!!!!!

The repair was so easy. I came home from work opened the boxes and got my socket set. Pulled the old agitator off with no problem. Grabbed my ratchet,extension and a socket.Took the old screw and agitator coupling off , which turned out to be the problem the inner spline of the coupling was stripped. Pushed the new coupling on used the new screw that came with the new coupling kit.Lined up the slots of the new agitator to the new coupling pushed it on,then pushed on the new fabric softener dispenser, done!!It took me longer to type this than the repair did!!

Pull the washer in order to have space to work on it, unplug the electric shut off the water and start to unscrew the top where the control panel is just be careful to not touch the electric parts like the chips because they are very sensitive to static that anybody have in hands. then ones is open unscrew the nut screws and take the old control off and put the new one in and plug the wires in the same place like like old one. Put the screws to hold the control panel and put everything together. then put the water on, plug the AC and try the washer on and since then is working.

took agitator off, loosened bolt on coupling, took that off. Replaced new coupling and tightened bolt on top. Put agitator on and pushed down hard to set in place. I'm a 66 year old female with no mechanical ability. I ordered this part on Sat. and it was on my door step on Mon. great service and video explained how to do repair and information provided possible repair needed. Great company.....

Couldn't get the agitator off by pulling up, then thought about it and got 2 carpenter claw hammers, inserted one on each side and puled up evenly on both and off she came. Sprayed the slots with WD Forty and popped the new on. THANKS saved us a lot of money!!!
