The freezer occasionally leaks water inside the freezer. Over a year ago i emptied the freezer, took off the panel and there was water in the drain area. There was a paper sticker that had let loose and fallen in the drain. It blocked the drain, causing an overflow. I cleaned and reassembled it , it worked fine until a month ago. Again, water in the bottom of the freezer which froze food to the bottom and leaked out the door. This time water also leaked onto the floor under the freezer, causing a puddle. The water is falling on the floor farther back, mid- way to the back. (evaporation pan?) I have taken the lower aluminum panel off the back of the unit and cleaned the coils and under the unit. (why are there no instructions for cleaning the coils in the manual?) there was no water in the evaporation pan, but we had another puddle. Please let me know what to do. thank you.

Hi Kathryn, you will want to check your defrost drain again, this area being blocked is the most common cause of leaks. Thank you for your question and good luck with your repair!

Fridge is on but not cooling and the fan doesn’t come on. The leds started scanning up and down and it didn’t do this before. This seemed to be when the trouble started. This is my parents fridge. I’m helping them with it.

After cutting power to the fridge for a few seconds the Freezer Temp on the control panel just shows 1 flashing bar. No other lights working on the panel and none of the control buttons work. I unplugged the fridge and plugged it back in. No change. Still has 1 bar flashing in the freezer temp display.

Hi Ed, Thank you for your question. If the door has been left open or if the temperature has risen inside, some of the lights may blink. Does the refrigerator show an error code? Is the refrigerator too warm or were you experiencing issues with the temperature? If you could resubmit your question with this information, we would be happy to help you. We look forward to hearing from you!

What, where and can I repair the rubber water supply tube for the ice tray?
For model number RS261MDWP
PartSelect logo
Hi Todd, thank you for getting in touch. You can repair the tube by following these repair options for small leaks: Option 1: Use common electrical tape or specially designed hose repair tape. First, clean and dry the tube before applying. Overlap the tape as you wrap it around the tube. Don’t wrap it too tightly, or the tube will crease and the tape won’t seal. Use rubber cement for tears and punctures. Dry and clean the area, and apply rubber cement to and around the hole. Fill in the hole, but not so much that it gets inside the tube. Option 2: Use rubber cement for tears and punctures. Dry and clean the area, and apply rubber cement to and around the hole. Fill in the hole, but not so much that it gets inside the tube. Mending a large leak is a little more involved but still simple. This will require cutting the damaged section out and replacing it with a mender. Be sure to use a sharp blade and make straight cuts when doing this. Loosen the screws on the replacement coupler. Insert the cut ends of each section of the tube into the side of the clamp mender. If this part is difficult, rub a little soap on the area to make it more pliable. Tighten the screws until the clamp is tight enough to not pull the tube out. Attach the tube to a nozzle and turn on the water to test out the connection. Keep tightening the connector until the water no longer leaks. We hope this information helps!

ICE MAKER WORKS FINE BUT WATER DISPENSOR STOPPED TO FILL A GLASS
For model number RS261MDWP

Hi Roy, thank you for the question. We would recommend checking the water inlet valve, part number PS4146914, to fix the issue. It is a 2-way valve. It supplies water to the refrigerator ice maker and water dispenser. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!

Ice tray had cracked and broken. The water is still not filling up my ice tray.
The replacement was fairly simple. I removed the existing tray and detached the water line. Once the water line water reattached to the new tray I inserted into the ice maker.

*** The problem I'm having now is the water is not filling up the tray***
Not sure what I did wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
