RS22AQXGN00 Roper Refrigerator - Instructions

I followed directions to take off the front of the water and ice maker then I saw the switch but I found out the plastic piece that held it in place was broke. I didn't order a new piece I used my reliable super duper quick glue and put the broken pieces to geter then put switch in place. then volla I had the water running like it did before. Thank you for telling me how to get the front off. That was the life saver.

I couldn't figure out if the front plate would come off so getting access to the screw to unscrew it was problematic at first. I don't have whatever tool you need to get at that angle so I used an Allen wrench with a 6.5 mm socket to unscrew the screw and replace the clip. After figuring that combination out it went really fast.

I took the ice bin and crusher down to find the problem. I needed a new auger. I did a Google search for the part and found instructions for taking the crusher mechanism apart. This went smoothly until I went to put it back together. I had to follow the instructions in reverse which was really difficult. I advise folks to use their cell phone camera to take close up pictures of the dismantling process . Use these to help you put it back together. All in all, I was very pleased and plan to return when another need arises. John (retired x 2)

If you have to push your door to close it and it doesn't close on its own, this is your fix. These door cams are two plastic pieces on the bottom hinge, one on the door and one on the bracket that goes to the body, that engage like a gear with only a couple of teeth. They are supposed to have raised teeth that engage to ride the door to a closed position when it is nearly closed. They are plastic and are made to wear down. To change, empty the door, then at the top of the door (i.e., looking down from above) unscrew two bolts that go to the hinge. The door then lifts off the bottom bracket. Put the door on a soft surface and unscrew the bolt that holds this cam. You can re-use the bolt. There is another cam bolted to the bracket that stays attached to the fridge. Change both cams at the same time. Reverse the process to re-install the door. Your door will close like new for under $10, in maybe 15-30 minutes.

Upon arrival I unpacked drawers and set in their location

Shut off water to icemaker, unplugged frig, loosened top 2 screws on iccemaker, removed bottom screw, unplugged icemaker and removed from frig. new plug in was the same so didn't need to chan ge it. reversed steps to install, back in businees in less than 15 mins., making ice and no leaks!!!!!!!

The disassembling and replacing the broken part went exactly as the directions.

Unplugged the refrigerator then removed two vertical screws on the very back back of the control panel (the ones with the washers). Do not remove the four other vertical screws in the panel. The front plastic plate on control panel snaps off and there are two horizontal screws under the plate. Remove them and the control panel will drop down allowing access to the light switch. Unplug the two wires (one black and one white) from the old switch. Discard the old switch, snap the new one into place and reconnect the two wires. Snap the front plastic plate back into place, plug in the refrigerator and you are done! Problem solved with a new $16.00 switch and saved at least $75.00 or more from an appliance repair call. Followed the example on the video and everything fit in place without any problems. Only issue is that on a double door fridge the freezer is rather narrow so there isn't much room to work making it was a bit difficult to access the mounting screws.

Removed cardboard, Removed 4 bracket mounting screws, Removed plug, Removed screws securing motor to bracket. . Installed new motor on bracket, Installed fan on motor shaft , installed new pigtail on motor, Installed new assembled motor and bracket, Hooked up pigtail to electric supply, Installed cardboard, Plugged in to power supply and Voila, not even one foul word during the whole process. followed video instructions... only thing done differently was to tape crusher blades together before removing from shaft and added a drop of sewing machine oil to all screw sockets before replacing to reduce rusting and create greater ease of removal if further repairs needed

Really couldn't be easier. Loosen 3 screws that are easy to find. Disconnect the quick connect wiring harness. Now you have the old unit out. Take out the wire that tells if there is too much ice from the old unit and put it on the new one ( this was the hardest part of the project) Hook up the new wiring connector and hook it on the screws and tighten it up. Viola, your done. No messing with the water. Took me 5 minutes and I've never done it before.

TURN OFF WATER (if not already). Cut (or disconnect filler tube at bottom). Remove faceplate from refrigerator ice/water dispenser area. Remove screw holding metal bracket that holds water tube at filler point. Held metal mounting bracelet and pulled old filler tube out. Fed new filler tube thru bottom (hole is located at bottom of left door at hinge). As tube came out at top, pulled length needed to mount to new mounting bracket. Remounted new bracket (with hose attached) with new screw. Reconnected tube at bottom water line connection. Turn on water.
