remoove all the food and shelves out from the freezer section, remoove the light bulb lens ( 1 phillips screw) remoove light bulb, take out 6 srews on the back panel then slide out through the top with a slight bending curve motion, the bimetal thermostat will be clamped to the evaporator inlet, ( just after the cap tube) snap it off, then cut the wires about 2 inches from the stat, strip the ends about a quarter inch with wire strippers, same on the new stat, then use 16 or 18 gauge butt splices and crimp them , then reassemble in reverse order.

Mine was alittle different than the online instructions. 1. I removed the motor. 2. I took the fan off the old motor and cut the wires about 3" back from old motor. 3. Mounted the new fan on bracket and put the fan on the new motor. 4.connected wires that were cut and used wire nuts to connect. 5. Mounted bracket and motor/fan to unit and it works like its brand new. Thank you PartSelect!

I was a Sears repair man for fourty eight years , so I don"t think I should say how easy this was.

unplug freg.took everything out.pulled out shelves and pulled out back panel.their was my part i had to replace.

Followed the very easy instruction that came with kit. Even a partially trained Monkey could do it with the easy instructions. very satisfied. Had Ice in about an Hour.

I hesitated to fix this for months, thinking it would be difficult so we just put up with a wobbly shelf (food articles would slide off occasionally) then I discovered your help videos and gained the confidence to perform the repair after watching the "how to". Now our food items are secure inside the fridge! Thanks for a great repair source!

Well I could what laid on the floor and replaced it but I didn't I emptied refrigerator laid it over change the motor then stood it back up actual work about three hours

The defrost timer that I ordered form you did the trick. My fridge was
running all the time and the fridge temp was 55 but the freezer was 10
below. The instructions did not say how to test the old one to compare with
the new on. However in the Readers Digest Home Repair book it did and the
test proved that it was defective. Your article said that with the system I
had, 65% on the time it was the timer. I ordered it and thank you it works
just fine. I do have another problem, maybe you can help. The fridge runs
for 6 minuets and stays off for 10 minuets. The temp in the freezer is 0
and the fridge is 35-40 on the warmest settings, but all is well.

(1)Remove all items stored in the inner door. (2)Remove all the shelves from the inner door. (3) Remove the top hinge cover screw and remove rhe hinge cover. (4) Remove the upper hinge (5) lift the door out of the lower hinge bracket and lay flat on a table or counter top. (6) Swap out the old parts with the new parts. (6) reassemble.

It wasn't quite as easy to get to the bolts as the video showed. The lay out of the part wasn't exactly like the video either. However, I managed to put the new part in. Unfortunately, it didn't solve the problem. At first the fridge cycled on and off but after 12 hrs it started to freeze liquids again. Since the appliance was 17 years old we opted to just get a new one.

Watched the video on your site and did just as it said. The video was a great help.

Followed the Partselect instructions - removed door, removed old cam and replaced with new cam. One lesson learned. There are two cams - one that sits on hinge below door and one that is up inside bottom of door. If you are replacing one, replace them both.

It started out being a disappointment. I just moved into a new place that needs many repairs so I didnt want to spend too much time on this one. I ordered this part which arrived in just a few days. Not knowing exactly what was broken I just ordered the whole thing. When I opened the box, the first thing I noticed was that one of the parts of the new ice maker had a big crack in it. Not wanting to go through the hassle of boxing it up and going through the return process, I started taking it apart and replacing the worn or broken owned, (exactly why I ordered the entire unit). Nevertheless, I wanted ice so I fixed it with some of the new ones and some of the old ones. By now I've paid too much for the unit but it was my choice not to send it back and I now have ice. It was pretty easy to fix once I had the parts.

With the help of the website I was able to verify that the part I removed (in the area of the clicking sound) was probably the part required for replacement. I ordered it, installed it... IT WORKS (I knew it the moment I plugged in the power cord and heard the compressor kick on). Saved me from buying a new fridge or calling a repairman. I'm a 58 year old woman with no appliance experience. I watched the videos and installed the part without any trouble. Replaced bracket-amazed to find how quickly I was able to id the part on this 20 year old refrigerator. Ordered the part and received it the next day! Thanks for the good service! , Bob
