RK747G*D2 Hotpoint Wall Oven - Instructions

Emptied freezes, turned off power, took floor of freezer out [4 screws ], took two screws out of fan mounts and replaces fan. Reassembled by reverse process. Simple

From inside the oven after turning off the breaker I removed all of the mounting screws with a nutdriver, I removed the wire screws after taping all of the wires together with a small piece of tape to prevent them from falling back into the opening. I installed the wires with the original screws as the provided screws would not fit the holes, tightened them, removed the tape and placed the element back into the opening. I then tightened the hanging brackets, after getting them to align and then tightened the rear mounting bracket. It did help to adjust the baking rack down and leave the baking rack in place to have a place to rest my arms. The install then became a piece of cake!

So easy! I just unscrewed the old one and just popped the new one in. So great!

Turned breaker off, unscrewed the element plate from the back wall, then unscrewed the power wire then put the wires on the new element the screwed the element and plate back into the back wall, then turned the breaker back on then turned it on to check and it actually works better than other one. Heats evenly now.

It was easy just a screw driver and ordering the part was made simple with pictures of the different elements. I could not belive you had the part.Thank you

Make sure the oven is off , remove 2 mounting screws , remove 2 screws wire to element , repeat previous steps installing new element

By using a sscrewdriver with a socket,the job was easy

I turned off power to the oven and used a nut driver to unfasten the heating element from the back of the oven. I pulled it a little bit out, then used a screwdriver to disconnect the wires from the terminals. I used the new screws provided with the new element to connect it to the wires, then screwed it back to the back of the oven. I turned the power back on and tested it. It was easy. No need to replace the oven yet.

I thought it would be a simple matter of removing the inside glass (4 screws) and replacing the gasket, but it turns out that on this model I had to start on the outside, remove the drawer, then remove the front door cover, then undo a screw which held the inside two-tier glass in place, THEN I could remove the four screws and the interior panel which holds the gasket in place. THIS IS A TWO PERSON JOB unless you choose to use masking tape to hold the exterior door cover in place while removing/replacing the many screws which hold it on. WHILE REPLACING THE INTERIOR COVER WHICH HOLDS THE GASKET IN PLACE, YOU MUST PERIODICALLY STRETCH IT HERE AND THERE TO GET THE "SNAKE" TO EXTEND THE ENTIRE WAY AND TO SEAL TIGHTLY.

Ordered part. Part arrived within 3 days. Went to my nextdoor neighbor and sniveled about "being afraid of electricity." He came over, unscrewed 2 screws, pulled out old element, replaced with new element, gave me a look that said, "must be nice pretending to be a helpless old lady and getting your way all the time." Smiled and went back home. Sure love my neighbor(s)!

Quarter inch socket was all that was required. The plate that covers the slot where the element threads through from the rear was smaller than what was on the original element, and it took a few attempts before it was secured properly to cover the opening, but other than that, it was a snap. I estimate that I saved well over $200.

Unscrew 4 easy nuts and 1 most difficult nut, gently pull both long and short wires, at this point assure the wife that you did turn off the power.You may wish to attach a cord to short wire as it wants to vanish into the rear bowels of the oven On instruction of the wife clean the oven. Reverse dismantling procedure. Switch oven on. Bask in wives praise.

Even though my sons offered to do the repair, I opted to hire an appliance technician to do it and it took him at least 45 mins. with his experience and tools. apparently the inside wall wires were shorter and more difficult to access and grip and I'm glad I did. It should last another 20 years and I'll be dead!

You must turn off the power to the oven since it's directly wired into the electric. One person holds the flashlight while the other removes two nuts, then two screws. Tight space to work in with head in oven. Tricky getting the screws back in and them making sure the unit is centered in the space when tightening the screws. Turn power back on when done. Works like a charm.
