Bake element melted and broke
I disconnected the electricity to the oven first and then removed the two screws holding the element to the frame of the oven. These were very simple to do. Then I pulled out the element and unscrewed the connections. I then replaced the Bake Element by connecting the new one back to the two wires and pushed it back into the slot. Finally I screwed the two screws back in place. The only thing I would advise is to be carefull when you are tightening the terminals of the new element. The metal is very soft and overtightening causes the terminals to bend to the right (the direction of tightening). Also, I was unable to screw the leads tightly to the element as the screw would not go in all the way. So I had to take the element out and righten the screw through the hole to open up the hole for the screw to go in smoothly. It would be a good idea to do this before trying to install. Otherwise, it was a pretty easy job.

old element broken
Locate the breaker at the fuse panel and turn the power off to the oven!--Open door--remove oven racks--use a good flashlight and locate the two screws securing the bake element at the back of the oven -- remove the screws and the element will come loose---pull element out a few inches to get to the positive and neutral leads--unscrew the leads and remove the element. Install in reverse order.

Only one rack in the oven
I thought I had founf "oven rack" on the parts diagram and I ordered it. It turned ut to be the wrong rack. I looked at the website again and found that farther along the set of diagrams there was a different style of rack with the little extra keeper-wire-prong features I needed. Two different diagrams and two different racks for what appeared to be one model. Service was excellent, no problem other than cinfusion w/ith diagrams and model numbers.

Getting in the right position to do the job.
I am left handed which sometime presents things in a aweward way. My greatest task was finding the right position and being able to hold the leads while trying to connect them. So I got a pillow and positioned myself and got into the oven and was able to do the job from there. After doing so, it took about 10 minutes to do the replacement.

Broken oven element
First and foremost...I turned the power off at the breaker box..double checked to make sure oven light did not come on. (The breaker box could be mis-numbered) Got a flashlight and unscrewed the plate holding the element to oven wall. I was careful disconnecting the old element per the advice of another commenter and connected the new. Turned on the power and Voila! I was cooking with electric again. I was recently widowed and if it can break it has around here. I've not only become an electrician (oven element) but a plumber, carpenter and roofer. I love the comment page and should I need more parts (and I probably will)I will always use PartsSelect. Oh, and they said I would receive my part in 1.8 days....it arrived in less than 24 hours...Thanks PartsSelect and all their commenters..

Our broiler element wasn't working.
We unscrewed the element easily enough, but had a hard time disconnecting the prongs. Once we did, we had to use a thin screwdriver to open the clamps to fit the new prongs into them. After all was accomplished and we switched on the breaker the broiler still didn't work. Either we did something wrong or the element wasn't the problem. We haven't decided our next move yet; whether to get a repairman in or buy a new oven. It's a pretty old oven/range.

Baking element went out
I watched a video of someone replacing a bake element. Told my husband about the video. The person said on video that the hardest part was taking out the original screws and be careful to not let the wires that the unit hooked to to slide back into the insulation. Husband said that everything went easy and it worked. Thanks for being so prompt in sending the part. I have already told others about PartSelect and how easy it was to find parts for all kinds of appliances.
