Why does my refrigerator build up ice casing the fan to hit it and make noise. When i unplug it for a few hours it starts working ok for a few weeks and then does it again.
For model number RF323TEDBSR
PartSelect logo
Hello and thank you for writing. A common cause of ice buildup is a faulty door seal PS4173219. If a refrigerator has a bad door seal, the outside air will pass into the fridge and cause the ice build-up problem you are experiencing. You should check the door gasket for damage and replace it if needed. We hope this information helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

How do I turn off ice off button display panel?
For model number RF323TEDBSR
PartSelect logo
Hi Dan, thank you for contacting us. Press and hold the Ice Maker Off button for 3 seconds until the Ice Maker Off Indicator illuminates. In some Samsung refrigerators, the ice maker has 2 indicators (ON/OFF) to show the operating status. When the ice maker is operating, the ON indicator turns on. When the ice maker is not operating, the OFF indicator turns on. We hope this will sort out your problem!

Evaporator frozen (refrigrator section) and allowing top section to lose cooling
This is the Samsung French door refrigerator style that so many people have complained about freezing up and not cooling the top section. I first changed out the defrost thermostat and this did not correct the problem. I done a quick resistance check on the temp sensor that's mounted on the evaporator itself. The resistance would change when holding an ice cube on the sensor so I just assumed it was ok. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: When performing a resistance check on this sensor, make sure your readings match the Samsung temp/resistance chart in their literature. My sensor was way off calibration and was causing the freeze up. Its working as designed now and DW is happy again. Learn from my mistake.

lower ice maker water fill tube frozen... suspected that the fill tube heater went bad.
Interestingly, the few authorized samsung parts suppliers I found declared that this model did not have a lower icemaker, whereas this company actually had the specific part. The heater swap is completely straightforward, and simple, but for one detail. The insulation wrap is easily torn when pulling the tube out and my time was spent finding a suitable material to patch the hole. I would recommend purchasing a new tube with heater element and wrap pre-installed. This issue in no way diminished my satisfaction with the product or the prompt delivery time.
