Drip Bowl - 6"

If your element will not heat, there could be an issue with your drip bowl. This 6 inch chrome drip bowl fits most electric ranges. Before you replace the drip bowl, make sure the element is turned off and cool to the touch. Installation is easy, just remove the element, replace the current drip bowl, and replace the element. Make sure the small hole on the bowl lines up with the element socket. The manufacturer has substituted this part, it has a hole in the center, and no longer has a solid bottom. Surface Burner - 8" - 2600W

The surface burner or element on your range provides the heat that you cook with. If your element will not heat, you may need to replace the surface burner. This surface burner is 8 inches in diameter and 2600 watts. The burner element is made of metal and has two prongs that connect it to the range. The manufacturer recommends you replace the burner receptacle at the same time that you replace the surface burner. Many of our customers have rated this repair as very easy. To complete the repair simply lift the old burner up and out, and replace it with the new one. Be sure to disconnect power to the range before beginning this repair.

Burner Switch Kit

This surface burner control switch kit comes with screws, mounting plate, push on locking nut, shaft adapter, and instruction sheet. The burner switch is universal for 6 and 8 inch elements. It features a one click clockwise (push to turn) function to move from off to high. This surface element switch sends voltage to the surface element coil to turn it off and on, and to control how much heat the element produces. If your surface element will not produce heat properly, it could be due to a defective burner switch. Ensure that the power has been disconnected from your electric range before you begin this repair.

Unplugged burners. . . . . Removed old bowls and replaced with new. . . . . . Plugged burners back in. I went to the local discount mart and bought drip bowls. The ones available at that store did not fit, so I decided to buy directly from the stove's manufacturer distributor.

The drip pans were simple to replace, as was the new burner element. My old one had broke and was still working, but I decided to replace it when I ordered the drip pans.
