RB525*R3 Hotpoint Range - Instructions

I prolly did it the hard way, but had to hold the element prongs to keep them from bending while tightening the connecting screws.

Some times it's not the element at all, as in this case. After rmoving the element I found the wires broke. Fortunatly I had some high temp wire left over from a earlier oven repair. I used butt splices and heat shrink tubing to repair the wires. Then I crimped on a couple of eyelets and fastened things dow.n I received a big kiss form the wife for getting the broiler fixed so fast. Maybe a little extra work, but the rewards were worth it.

First turn off breakers. Undo all screws and remove burner. Easy to see how to replace old part with new. Self explanatory if you follow what you have taken apart.

A note to the wise. It is a good idea to remove the existing element (turn off the circuit breaker to the oven first)prior to ordering a replacement. I did not, & it lost me time & some measure of my wife's regard for me because I had to return the first element I had ordered (the product return process was easy too & I have already received my refund). Removing the existing element allows a comparison of it with the various parts available (there are graphics with 1" gridlines to determine the size & configuation). I found one with the hinged configuration & the 2 1/2" element projection from the hinge that matched the existing. Once the new element arrived I began by turning off the circuit breaker to the oven again. Removed two screws to release the existing element from the back wall of the oven. Removed two more screws from the electrical leads at the end of the existing element. Connected the electrical leads to the new element with the threaded bolts provided. Slid the element in to the opening. Secured the hinge plate on the element to the back of the oven with the two original screws. Incidentally, I used the same nut driver on both sets of connectors. Turned the circuit breaker back on. Tested the operation. My wife baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies that evening - which I could not eat because i am gluten intolerant. Really could not have been any simpler (once i had the right part). While the power was off I also removed a stove element by sliding it out of the connecting clips & replacing it with a new one I had ordered with the oven element. Slide the old out. Slide the new in. That simple. Works great. Ordered two more stove elements which should be delivered today. Easy & fun. HINT: It would be more fun if you cleaned the oven first.

Could't be more easier, had to use something to help pull and push through insulation.

We inherited a 30 year old double oven when we purchased our home. The top oven works great, but the heating element on the bottom oven needed to be replaced. I could not find a replacement online and doubted seriously if I could find one any where given the age of the oven. I called partsselect, gave the rep the model number of the oven...and we were able to fix a 30 year old double oven for $28! And the part was simple to install. Honestly I would love a new double oven...but am THRILLED to have my existing one fixed for such a low price. Thank you!

The repair was very eash. The replacement element fit perfectly and only involved removing two screws, pulling the old element out far enought from the bak of the oven to disconnect the wires held by two screws . Disconnecting the two wires and installing the new element. This is a 25 year old appliance and is back to working like new. One note, be sure to shut the power off to the range because one of the wires connected to the element remains HOT! even if the oven is not on.

4 screws to remove the rear covection element cover. 2 screws to remove heating element. 2 screws to remove wires from element. Install new element in reverse order. Then replace convection element cover. Done!

The repair would have been really easy if I had a small socket set to remove the hex head screws. All that was needed was to unscrew the back plate, pull out the terminals, unscrew the attachments and then do it all in reverse with the new element. I did use a little WD 40 to make the job easier. Anyone could do this.

Very easy. Followed the video instructions. Unplug stove. Cut old wires. Tape new wires to old wires to facilitate pulling new wires thru old hole to back of range. Removed back cover. Pulled old/new wires thru to back. Removed old connectors. Attached new connectors. Replaced back cover. Screwed new terminal block to front of range at burner. Attached new burner. Plugged in stove. Replaced stove in counter.

The original controls were different for the small burners and the large burners. The replacement part fits all. Before removing wires, pay attention to writing on new and old control and replace 1 at a time. The hardest part was being sure to cut the knob stem to the correct length. Control works well.

Just needed a screwdriver to take out the old one and replace with the new one.Quick easy job.

The information on your website is wonderful. I found the part with no trouble and it came in days. My husband replaced the element in less the 15 mins and our oven is working again!

I had to wire the element different since the oven is older. The element had diferent configeration and connectors were upgraded. It fit just fine and I recommend to tape your connections before you close things up. Easy to repair and the price is perfect. I recieved the element 3-days earlier than I expected. You might have to change the ground wire but it still does the job Tom Shultz- Boise, Id
