ice falling out of the door onto floor
Ordered part using the schematic, it got here the next day!! Took out the ice bin, using the 2 butter knives, I pried the side clips and slipped the dispenser out, , I removed the broken plate, and carefully threaded the auger into the hole of the new plate, slid it into the dispenser and seated clips, placed back into ice bin and attached the 3 screws on the bottom to hold in place! A 70 yr old lady repairman, who would have thought it.

Ice would not despence - Ice maker auger would not turn
Refer model was older than repair instructions given for job. So the repair could have been done by simply unclipping the forward auger gear box & pulling it up and out of the ice tray unit. However we had to figure that out for ourselves & the gear box resisted most attempts @ prying it out. It eventually gave (with no breakage) & it was then easy to pull the auger from the rear housing & replace the drive cup. With all items refitted together the gear box slipped easily back into the tray housing & the auger w/ new drive cup slipped into it's rear housing.

Freezer icing and frig warm
I replaced the Defrost Timer & Defrost Thermostat previously only to find that the freezer was still freezing up. It was obvious that the Defrost heater was bad and I ordered it. I had ignored Parts Select reccommendations on my first order otherwise it would have been less than 30 minutes to complete all of the repairs. It took longer to defrost the freezer coils than the actual repairs took. I followed the published installation from Parts Select and now my 10 year old side by side is working like a new appliance. Thanks Parts Select for the fast shipping and accurate replacement instructions. Jim from Virginia, you get 10 stars from me!

Fan and housing cannot be removed together.
On partselects video the gentleman removes the fan and housing in one piece. This is a great idea but does not work on this brand of ge. I removed the fan housing screw as instructed but left it in place and swiveled it enough to access the retaining screws with a socket driver. Over all swap of the fan was seamless and the video is a gem. Andy

Ice Door Not Closing, building up ice in refrigerator
Disconnected power to unit. Using small Allen wrench unhooked 2 catches in electronic control panel. There are two holes underneath. Push up and pull out on panel as you release the catches. Remove wires. Remove 4 Phillips head screws in plastic panel, then remove panel. Solenoid has 3 screws. I replaced my screws being they were very rusty along with the solenoid. The spring on the door is easily replaced by removing two small screws on each side of the door hinge. There probably was nothing wrong with the old spring but for insurance replaced. Put the unit back together, no more ice buildup and clogging in ice chute through door. Likely saved $100 in labor repair bill by doing myself. Note: There is a few seconds time delay on the door closing. At first I thought I hadn't fixed the problem but then realized a delay in built into the system to avoid the door getting caught on any slow falling ice.

I watched the vidio on your site, it was very helpful. Careful lifted the frame, unhooked the display panel. With phillip screwdriver took the 4 srews off, unhooked the pc board. Take out 2 srews for the doorflapper. Loosen top screw for soliniod, take out 2 bottom srews and take out soliniod. Clean up area with paper-towel. Replace all new parts. And it works great again.

Ice maker wouldn't drop cubes from tray properly
After three different people tried fitting the new stripper arm into place, all gave up insisting I was sent the wrong part. After much frustration and not getting any help from your contact phone number I took matters into my own hand and refashioned the replacement part to fit. I had to trim the tines down between each rotating part that pushes out the cubes and trim part of the body of the stripper arm itself. After replacing the entire unit back into the freezer and turning it back on, within an hour, I started hearing cubes drop in the bin. It's now working ok.

Fridge/Freezer stopped working
The Part Select videos made the repair super easy. Monkey see -monkey do. One thing that should be stated more strongly is that you need to UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE SO YOU DON'T SHORT OUT THE MOTHERBOARD. Accidentally shorting out the motherboard makes the repair much more expensive.
