OPEN LEVER

This is an open lever for a microwave. It allows the microwave door to open when prompted. When you push on your door latch lever, it contacts the door latch assembly and releases the hooks that lock the door shut, allowing the door to open. If your door will not open, you may need to replace the open lever. You will need to remove the microwave cover and possibly the control panel, depending on your model, to access the door latch assembly. This part is white or off-white in color and measures approximately 4.5 inches long. This is an OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Just take out the appliance from built in frame, if any, remove the glass turn table, disassemble the metal cover (no-tamper screws were a problem), flip it over, unscrew one screw from the motor, unplug the wires (keep track of the connections), install the new motor and wires, reaassemble with regular screws, and reinstall. No big deal. read more
