NAV8805EWW Amana Washer - Instructions

Watched videos on how to replace the hose. Armed with the information I started the process. But the videos were wrong. After removing a bunch of screws and not getting to the hose I removed the inspection panel on the rear,three screws and there was the hose.simple. I wished I had not watched the videos.

I remove the necessary panels, hoses and electrical section and removed the tub springs and pulled the tub assembly out of the unit and replace the snubber ring. Was really not hard to do and it worked like a charm. No more problems :)

First thing was to go to PartSelect website to see what others with the same problem did to solve their problem. It was 45% pump and a lot less for the belt. My belt is only a year old so that was out. I ordered my new pump and watched the video on PartSelect a couple of times. I didn't bother to disconnect the water and drain lines. I had my wife hold a plastic 2 quart container under the pump when I pulled the small hose off and didn't spill a drop. Like the man on the video said...the new pump isn't identical but it fits and works fine. Thankx PartSelect!

Took the front panel off the washer with a screwdriver, tilted the washer back and propped it up with a paint can, unscrewed 2 nuts & bolts, disconnected the electric to the motor and lifted out, put the new motor in place & secured it with the nuts & bolts, reconnected the electric and re-installed the front panel of the machine and I was done.

placed washer on front exposing bottom of machine. removed clip holding pulley in place with needle nose pliers. The old parts slid off transmission shaft easily. I set these aside in order of removal. The replacement parts were not exact matches to OEM parts replacement bearing was heavier duty and thicker there were washers in the kit that would not even slid onto transmission shaft,replacement pulley and cam were exact replacements for OEM. I replaced the bearing and thrust washer and then used a combination of new and old washers to build the assembly back to the original length so the retaining clip would hold assembly firmly in place.The instructions key point was that the final height had to bring the pulley back to the original height for a snug fit with retaining clip. Once I realized this the extra parts in the kit were less worrisome.

I replaced both the belt (PS2018741) and water pump (PS2347193)on my Maytag Washer MAVT446AWW. I replaced the belt and water pump at the same time because my machine was making a pretty loud knocking noise (like a belt was flapping loose -- but the old belt was not broken. I used the instructions in the PartSelect.com video and installation was pretty easy. Both the new belt and water pump work fine. BUT the knocking noise in the wash cycle is still there. Does anyone have a suggestion on what I can check next with regard to this problem? Thanks

Easy fix. I pulled the washer out from the wall and leaned the top back to the wall. I then removed the belt from the bottom. I set the washer back on all fours and slide it around so I could get to the back water pump access panel. Using a nut driver, I removed the screws from the panel, then I removed the panel. I could now see the water pump. With a pair of pliers I removed the two hose clamps, and removed the end of the hose's from the pump. Then with a socket wrench I removed the three screws holding the pump down and removed the pump. In reverse order I put it back together. It works fine and saved me a lot of money from happened to buy a new washer. Thanks PartSelect.

follow the video on snubber ring replacement an use 1/2 inch washers keep the tub springs from collapsing then it is very easy to remove them make sure to tilt the tube assembly an un hook start to finish under 1 hour

remove the cable under the washer, open the back small opening/access panel, unplug two hoses, remove and replace the pump, put everything back including the cable under the washer. then test and it washes like new and quiet. Installation video is very helpful.

The repair went smoothly with no issues or problems. The video link sent with the receipt made all the difference in the world. I watched the video on my iPad as I was doing the repair. Also locating the parts I needed on the part select website could not have been simpler.

Ordered two new hinge pins as well as hinges. (Did not want to have to deal with it again so chose a full change out.) Watched a U-Tube video that described how to change out the hinges. The trick is find out how to lift the top panel on the washer to access the screws that anchor the hinges. Use a putty knife and slide it into the space between the top panel and the front panel. Got the job done today in an hour or so. Chose to also wipe out the top of the wash tub at the same time so it took a bit longer. Works fine now. Just like new.

Followed very detailed instructions posted on the website. Made a difficult job possible; without instructions would not have been to do repair. Thanks to those who posted step-by-step process. Suspension springs most difficult part of job, followed by C clamp. Lots of sharp edges to cut and scrape your arms and hands. After seeing how this machine is built, I am done with Maytag appliances.

Cause:The main problem was the snubber ring got destroyed from continuously overloading the washer. That lead to the unit becoming off balance which in turn broke the belt pully off of the water pump and wore out the tub springs. Solution: Procedure 1: Make sure to turn off the water going to the machine, unplug the hoses and the power cord and if you have room take it out away from the wall. even after it is drained there will still be some water in the unit so keep a good size towel on hand. The pump is the easiest part to replace; simply lay the machine forward so that you can get to the back panel and the bottom at the same time. Remove the panel and the pump is just inside. remove the belt from the bottom of the unit then remove the black hoses from the pump taking note how they are situated and the size difference. Remove the bolts that attach the pump to the housing then lift the pump out through the opening; unless you have purchased new bolts you are going to want the old ones for the reinstall since the new pump probably doesn't come with any. Also, the replacement pump may not have the same mounting bracket but it will mount just fine without it. now simply install your new pump in the same position as the old, secure it to the housing and reattach the belt. Procedure 2: Now for the springs; this is a little more difficult and it is going to take some muscle and patience. Do not remove all of the springs at once, trust me! lol! The easiest way to do this is to remove one spring at a time and replace it with a new one; just make sure to mark them as you go or at least remember where you started. Only a few of them are accessible from the panel in the rear but if you tilt the machine back upright the whole front of the machine can be removed very easily. First you must remove the top; to do this there are two brackets on the back at the top behind the instrument panel that can be removed with a Phillips head screw driver. after they are removed pry the front of the whole top panel up, there are only two brackets holding it down. Remove the two screws that you have uncovered at the front and remove the front panel by lifting up slightly and pulling forward. you can now get to the rest of the springs. Take note how everything was removed and reverse process to put it all back together. Thanks and goodluck!
