Microwave Light Bulb - 40W

The light bulb in your microwave allows you to see inside the main compartment, and should come on automatically when you open the door. If your light bulb is not performing this function, you may need to replace the bulb. This light bulb is 3 inches long, is made of metal and glass, and is 40W. Many of our customers have rated this repair as easy. To complete the repair, first remove the glass cover if your microwave has one. Then simply unscrew the old bulb and replace it with the new one. Be sure to disconnect power to the microwave before you begin this repair. Also, if the old bulb was broken, be sure to remove any pieces of glass in the microwave before you use it again.

Both bulbs burned out at same time

I r/r the bulb cover, I then removed the burned out bulbs w/ a rag in case they broke they wouldn't have cut my fingers. You turn the bulbs lefty loosy. Installation is just the reverse. Install each bulb and turn righty titey, just snug the bulbs into place. Replace Glass cover and insert one phillips screw in plate and re-tighten read more

Removed control panel, discharged HV capacitor. Removed old diode, tested to confirm failure. Replaced part. Other than the removal of the panel swapping the part was almost as easy as replacing a light bulb. read more

I bought the microwave on sale at Sears. the glass cooking tray was missing. It was to be ordered but after 2.5 months I had not received it so called Part Select and received the tray within 5 days! Ironically, the original one arrived the same day. I would recommend PartSelect for their prompt and very courteous service. read more
