Dryer door wouldn't stay closed
Took 2 screws out of the bottom of the dryer so the front face plate came off. This allowed access to the door latch catch, which was easy to pull out with pliers. Pushed in new latch catch until it "popped" into place. Easy, easy, easy!

On our Maytag dryer, the drum rests on rollers in the back and 2 smooth glides on the front. The glides had worn down completely causing the metal drum to rub against the metal rim of the dryer as it turned. We discovered the problem because metal shavings were causing dark orbital shaped marks on
Took the front and the lint catcher off the dryer to expose the front of the drum and the glides. On our dryer the drum rests on a roller in back and smooth glides in front which are held in place by rivets. these glides had worn down to the metal so that the drum was grinding against the metal ridge as it turned. Drilled out the existing rivets using a 1/8" drill bit. Took out remains of old glides and inserted new. Rivets came with the kit and it was easy to assemble. Put it all back together and now the dryer works beautifully!!

Dryer door latch replacement
It was so easy to repair that my wife did it. She used a screw driver to pop out the old, worn plastic part that the door latch goes into and snapped in the new part and it was all done. So nice to be able to fix it yourself!

door latch broken door would not shut
I followed the video on the site which was really helpful.I took the door off without problem. I had to take the bottom panel off the front and unscrew screws on large front panel.Replacing the latch was a breeze. Just as shown on video. Be careful that dryer drum doesn't fall down off wheels. My did and had to push it back up.Replaced all panels and screws and it works great.

dryer was making a squealing noise and getting worse
was very easy when you figure out how to remove the front of the dryer by removing the 4 screws 2 on the door hinges and 2 on the opposite side. i replaced both rear rollers the tension roller and the belt while i was at it. if i had had all the parts when i started it would have taken less than an hour. also snap ring pliers are a must

Door Latch broken
unscrew the screws at bottom front of dryer, lift outward, upward, the bottom of the front of the dryer. As the dryer front tilts outward/upward from the bottom, the area where its hinged at the top of the front will disengage from the main frame of the dryer and the face of the front of the dryer comes off. remove the old door latch by manipulating the plastic body of the latch (wiggle, twist pinch . . .) until, from the back, you can push the old latch forward through the front of the front of the dryer. At this point, you can put the new door latch back in from the front and push it in to place.

dryer knob brock off and installed with new
To remove and install the new parts, I followed the video instruction at whirlpool.com. Then removed the old knobs and put the new ones in. The new one created a rough contact and needed a little lithium grease to make a smooth insertion to prevent the friction from damaging the new part. It was an easy fix and took about ten minutes. Good luck in your repairs!

Dryer noisy during start and operation
the rear left roller is attached to the dryer with a shaft that has a nut on the end of it, so replacing it was considerably easier than on the right side, which required removing the retainer clip.
Once I got the small back panel off, it was a pretty simple process to replace the roller with a socket - while supporting the weight of the drum with one hand, it took about 5 minutes to replace the roller and re-fasten the nut to complete the job!
